• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have had the multi-set for a few months now. Twice the mic has stayed on continuously and it's not due to any wind rushing past the mic. Has anyone else had this problem. I'm wondering if this is an indication the battery needs charging?

Have mine for over a year. You can switch from two modes, one talk to switch or one to switch on the ctl button. I have mine to talk to activate but have found, it does not take much for it to turn over from mp3 to voice. I did take the cover off, put tape on the front side "non-mike" to make it a bit tighter for the cover. Still get it every once in a blue moon. Turning both units off and then back on seemed to fix the problem.

I only use the talk to switch it on mode.

I've had mine for a few months as well. Haven't had that problem but for the last couple of weeks the intercom will not stay on. We can be talking and the intercom will turn off almost in mid sentence. I've re-sync, procedure but ithasn't helped.

It is doing that after what it thinks is 15-25 seconds of silience. YOu can switch to the other mode if you want.

Cardo Scala Rider Q2 interference - grounding wire?

Has anyone experienced a problem with the Scala when keeping it paired with a cell phone? The clarity of the intercom is terrible when I pair it. I am wondering if it's caused by the grounding wire not being installed on my SM5. The SE5's have a recall for the wire but not the SM5's. Any thoughts on this?

Most of the problems I ran across with the pairing of cellphones was an issue with the phone itself. When I first started using the scala I had a Palm Treo and it sucked with both the headset and going through my gps. With my Blackberry the clarity is excellent either way.

We use a pair of Scala Q2's, my wife on her Yamaha, me on the Spyder roadster. We each have our own cell phone connected via Bluetooth to our respective Scala device. We both have full-face modular helmets. Perhaps this will help:
  • Either of us can successfully make/receive cell calls, no interference, and the other party can't tell we're on motorcycles! She has a BlackJack 2, I have a BlackBerry Curve.
  • When my wife uses her old 3/4 helmet, the intercom stayed on continuously because of wind noise.
  • When using the current full-face helmets, the intercom times-out at about 30 seconds, as it should. I asked a Cardo rep a few days ago at the BBB event if it the timeout value is configurable, it is not.
  • We cannot pair the Scala to our Garmin 660 (its NOT the motorcycle version) because the four-digit codes are incompatable and not configurable.
  • Occasionally the cell phones won't sync to the Scalas. The trick is to turn Bluetooth on the cell first, then turn on the Scala device, and wait for them to sync.
  • The FM radio works fine, once you set your six channels (a pain wthout a frequency display).
  • Although sound comes through both speakers at all times, its not in stereo, regardless of source EXCEPT AN EXTERNAL MP3 DEVICE
  • We have alerted each other to many road hazards and last-minute route changes; we are very happy with our Scala Q2's.
