• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Changing headlight bulb - remove front end?

Yesterday I visited the dealer to have a replacement windshield fitted. The tech was busy with another RTL, a 2014 with a blown headlight bulb on the left hand side. Apparently the whole front end had to be removed to replace the bulb, as there is an air inlet duct too close to the back of the headlight to allow for removal and refitting. I also learned that the front has to be removed to replace the shocks on the RTL (the top bolt can't be removed) and to change the spark plugs at the 45,000km service.

Is this really necessary? And if so, how difficult is it to remove the tupperware from the front to allow access to these things?

I've tried a search, but can't find any threads covering this. Presumably somewhere there is a thread with information about removal of the front end.

You can get the shocks off without removing the front trunk. We've done it several times to install BajaRon Shock Adjusters.

I've replaced my head and fog lights on my RT 13 without having to remove the front end!
For the head lights I remove the entire head light housing and for the fog lights I was able to do it from the wheel well! You do have to remove a few panels though! Good luck with your project!
