• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Best price I've seen is BAJARON's & He ships Free ...... Doc Humphrey has a very good - how to video on this -So as to what's involved - watch His video first - It does take awhile to do - lots of Tupperware to remove - not difficult just time consuming - don't try this unless you are under cover ie garage etc............... Mike ................... PS I changed mine recently and if can let the Spyder drain ( the oil ) overnight there will be less of a mess......:yikes:

Changing the transmission oil filter on an SE6 is not difficult, just time consuming (as mentioned).

There is no 'Transmission Fluid' on any Spyder. The engine oil also services the transmission. That is why it is so important to use a good quality oil, or change often. Transmissions are many times harder on the oil than the engine. That is why, in most applications, the transmission has a completely different lubricant to handle the additional stress. But to save weight, size and complexity, most motorcycles use the same lubricant for both.

Once the oil starts to go away, you're getting unnecessary wear in both areas.

IS it absolutely necessary to use 5w40synthetic oil or is possible to use 15w40 synthetic? I understand it requires nearly 6 qts. when changing oil & trans. filters at the same time.

I personally use Amsoil 10W-40 full synthetic, so no it isn't absolutely necessary to use 5w40 synthetic oil.

The answer is no, it is not necessary (absolutely or otherwise) to use 5w-40 synthetic oil, as already stated. Here are the BRP quantity requirements for an oil change with the amount of oil provided in their service kits.
