• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Clicking noise from the front calipers when applying the breaks

Good day all, I have been experiencing a clicking sound coming from the front wheels (yes, both) when applying the breaks...your help is greatly appreciated...

Thank you boborgera.. The noise is anoying as hell..sounds like the calipers are gonna drop...

LOUDER EXHAUST AND STEREO

You just need a Louder Exhaust and a Stereo and you'll never hear that clicking sound.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

When I go on a ryde on my RS the click only occurs the first time I apply the brakes....doesn't happen during the rest of the ryde....I don't worry about it.

If it's a kind of fluttering sound it's the drilled rotors and normal. It shouldn't be very loud though.....I can barely hear mine at all. Get it checked out if you're not sure. :dontknow:

I will have the noise check by an specialist $$ in a week (when back in town).. I will post the what the outcome..

Hi Coz, that was the first fix: got a hindle and new bluetooth helmet... by I can still hear the clicking :banghead:

hindle

if you can hear it over a hindle maybe there is something to it. when i got mine, all you could hear was the squeeling and squeeking of the sorry brake pads. disc brake quiet took care of that. i've never heard the clicking sound before. maybe you have exceptional hearing. either way , good luck with it and keep us posted:thumbup:

after riding my spyder 6ooo km's, i rode out of my driveway with a shorty helmet on. turned right around to find the clicking. put the full face back on and have never heard it again in 6000 more km's. any condition/any speed. if you can hear it with a full face on, you got a problem with the brakes.

If it's that loud have it check out at the dealer. Is your Spyder an RS or RT, what year, and how many miles do you have on the brakes.

Mike

I have confirmed this with my dealer when I first got my Spyder. It is normal. I wouldn't waste your money taking it to a specialist.

We have seen the lower ball joint cotter pin hitting the wheel weights. You may want to take a look as we have fixed a handfull of these. There really shouldn't be any clicking you should notice.

Thank you! Taking the spy to the dealer on Thursday, before riding to Daytona
