Cold Weather Neck/Face Cover Up

Guys & Gals, We are starting to get some pretty cold mornings/days around here in Springfield, MO and I need something to keep the cold air from going down my neck and freezing me....what works well and best place to buy them....? Maybe something that could be pulled up over my mouth and nose possibly.....

It sounds like you wear open face helmets. In that case I suggest looking at balaclavas but the helmet fit issue arises. I actually wear a Pearl Izumi bicycling cap and a Turtle Fur neck warmer that fits well with my modular helmet and keeps the wind out both front and back and is good down to low 30s ambient temperature. If it's not too cold for you a doubled over neck warmer may do the trick until it gets very cold. IMO there's no need to spend extra bucks at a motorcycle shop when REI has just about anything you will need to stay warm at very reasonable prices. YMMV.

I got a warm neck cover thingy from a outdoor store, and I sometimes combine that with a stretchy thingy I bought at the motorcycle show (WHEN THEY STILL CAME TO MICHIGAN). It can get rather chilly here......

Try a neck gaiter

I use a neck gaiter like this one. It keeps your neck warm and helps block the flow of cold air up into your helmet.

I got some heavy duty acrylic material, just make sure it is long enough. It was only a few buxs, my only complaint is that it can get very hot inside!

I rode to work this morning and used my snowmobile balaclava.....no wind down my neck and stayed toasty....except my hands, but that's another story (and forum post).

Buff head wear is the way to go!

I've been using Buff Head wear for many years and although I've tried other neck tubes from
different manufacturers Buff is most comfortable. They also make a Polar Buff for really cold weather.

Wind Triangle here also. It's GoreTex nylon so it doesn't get soaked by the rain.
