Coolest three wheeler

I just saw on TV the coolest 3 wheeler. They only had it on for couple of minutes but wow. It is basicly like the spider with 2 wheels in front. Maybe you heard of it maybe not. But here is all the infor. that they gave for it. It's made in Canada by a co. called Compaga. It is called the T-Rex. It does 0 to 60 in 2.9 sec. has 187hp weighs under 1,000 lbs. price is $40,000. It had a steering wheel instead of handle bars & sat two people side by side. You sat in it not on it. It also so had saddle bags & looked like it had a rollbar. Talk about smoking the rear tire, they were even doing Driffting. Said it could take corners faster than any car or bike. It was really incredable.

Those are cool... and have been around for quite a while. However, by the time you put some needed/wanted options on it, it's more like USD 50k.

Jody at No Magic Neon has one and his daughter loves to ride in it!

Not too long ago, I decided I wanted one... got a few hints from Jody on sources for used ones. Then, decided that for that money, I'd get a 427 Cobra repli-car... even had a member here look at one for me 250 miles away.

However, in the end, better judgment won out and I decided on neither... to save what little money I have. :yikes:

Smart move! You can always use that money for a new RT!

Saw one once in person--- very low to the ground--- was like a go-kart. Way over-priced in my opinion.

I'll take a Spyder any day over a T-rex.

I have heard that the T-Rex folks have been struggling a little. Not sure how true that is. But, $50,000 for one of those is high dollar. I still have not seen one on the streets anywhere that I have been. But; they sure look like they would be fun!

Jody has one and it's really neat! :2thumbs:

He takes his handicapped daughter Taylor in it.

It is really quite fast as it has a Kawasaki ZX1220 motor in it, and the new ones have the new ZX1400 motor! :yikes:

It is indeed really low and drives like a car not a bike, with a steering wheel, gas and brake pedal like a car too.

It is cool and fun, but if I get into it you need "the jaws of life" to get me out of it. LOL :roflblack:

New ones start well over $50K now.

I saw one for the first time at a biker bar in the little town of Hardin, IL just last week. It was pulling out as we were pulling in, so I didn't get to learn what it was, and no one else I was with knew either.
Now I do! Thanks!

There is a really cool video of a guy testing the T-Rex on a track in the rain on youtube. There is also a video of one drag racing a Spyder, but it only really shows the first few seconds of the race.

I don't think it's really that expesive. When you consider what it coasts to build a conventional three wheeler. First you got to buy the bike; Goldwing-Harley what ever $20,000 and then another $20,000 for the 3 wheel kit and labor to put it together. And there are some of those that are well over $50,000. Depending on what you get.

My neighbor just sold his red T-Rex for about $33,000. he paid $35,000 when he bought it used a year ago. He flipped his over to avoid an on coming T-Bone, luckily he was wearing his helmet and seat belt, no injuries.

T-Rex + T-Bone = :yikes:

There was a T-Rex at the Trike Riders International Rally I went to in Aug. He had the room above mine so our bikes were parked next to each other a lot. People kept commenting that it looked more like a car, which I agreed with. Looks like a SCCA C sports racer. I had to keep my face straight when people were asking if it had a Bombardier engine in it. I think the guy was a little miffed that people were looking at mine as much as his. Since there was about a $33,000 dollar difference!

All charity contributions would be greatly appreciated.

:ohyea::ohyea::roflblack:

I thought Even Cobra replicas were going close to $1OO,OOO. These days.

Nahhh, Putt... you can get a good used one (very little miles) for $35-50... new in the $50 and up range.

There are five to eight very good car manufacturers that are primo. The really good ones have been in business for 25+ years. The cars are built to your specs and, when delivered, are ready to rock and roll!

Superformance is an excellent example of the fiberglass cars. ERA is another.

Kirkham hand builds an aluminum body and the price on it does get a bit crazy.

They are definately alot of fun to "DRIVE". Was hoping to get Taylor out today but the weather didn't look like it was going to cooperate. So we decided to hang out in the pool instead:2thumbs:.

Having her handicap the T-rex works better than anyother trike/bike out there. This was the only machine that she could ride in and enjoy OUR hobby together as a family. So the large $$ tag to enter was in reality as Mastercard says "PRICELESS".

Now she'll have to wait until we get back from Bike, Blues, & BBQ before she can go for another ride. Bummer. Sorry Tee, Tee!!!!!:opps:

Cobra--- Would be nice with a Boss 351 engine. These engines really run; even a 427 better be in really top tune or it will get beat. A friend of mine had one for years and he beat many of the larger engines. Used to run the street Drags cars and bikes for money sometimes for over $2,000 a race. He didn't loose very offten. 67 Mustang.
