• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Decision Dilemma

Sounds to me like you are an RT guy from the start. Time to just pull the trigger and take your chances.

Look at the people who throng to Las Vegas every day! You're odds are astronomically better than theirs! :ohyea:

Ok, not a greatly comforting way to look at it. But the truth is, there are thousands of trouble free RT's out there. Others have had issues that were largely operator caused, most issues have been fixed and never come back.

Some have had reoccurring problems and this is what we focus on. And I don't blame anyone for taking a hard look at all aspects of the Spyder before getting one.

In my opinion, after everything is said and done, get yourself the Spyder that works for you at a good dealership and you're going to have a great ride!

I too feel BRP should offer the Basic RT with the Auto transmission- Just give me the RT, Auto, comfy seat, storage , heated grips and adjustable windshield and you can keep the rest BRP and I,ll save $$$. I shouldn,t have to buy a Model with a Stereo That I Will NEVER use just to get a Auto Transmission?nojoke

Don't think that problems are found on all of the RT's there are about 8,000 members on the forum and about 2,000 who must lurk here without joining. The problems are only a very small % of that.

How do you like that touring windshield? A buddy of mine has an 08 se5 and he has gone thru several windshields trying to find one that can keep some of that wind off him at hwy speeds.

I had one of the original Rs's and rode the heck out of it with little serious problems. After trying any number of four wheel replacements it was back to the SPyder. I tried falling in love with the RT but it just wasn't for me. Certainly if you have a significant other to carry along the Rt is about the only way to go. But I am the Recluse Spyder so I bought another RS. It was a Premier edition so I felt I knew it pretty well. I love it. But it is not an RT.

RS windshields. I have inversted more money in freaking windshields. The best are the F1 from Marcel who everybody hates and is now out of business. Now Madstad with a BRP touring windshield does the trick for me.

Both the bike and the windshields are very personal choices but grab one of each and just go. I have seen more of this country on the back of a Spyder then most people will ever see.
