• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Durango Camping

I have started to do some research on camping in the Durango, CO area. So far, there is quite a number of campgrounds that don't open until May 1 or later. They sure are going to miss out on the fun and the dollars.
I'm looking through the 2011 Trailer Life Directory RV Parks & Campgrounds. Looks like the altitudes are over 6000 feet. So, it should be just a little bit cooler in the Summer as I found last Summer when I was touring the Western US.

Three are open in the Durango area, seven are not or don't have restroom facilities. There is another RV park in Bayfield and two in Ignacio, CO.

There might be more that are not listed in the directory?

we phoned united campground they are taking bookings now sorry cant remember phone # just go to durango website its on there

Many of the Colorado campgrounds are somewhat less than motorcycle friendly, in that they are off dirt roads. A steep winding dirt road is no fun if it rains, even on a more forgiving Spyder. Make sure of the access before you book.

this has been a very unusually warm winter in colo., & most campground's, are usually covered in a foot of snow, & freez'n temp's, most nites!!

I also ave booked at Alpen Rose for June 20 - 23. I have a tent trailer and will probably pack a electric heater in case it snows! Mmmmm pancakes!

Beer & wine are an acquired taste. I never acquired the taste. :(
I priced the KOA compared to what I'm paying and it's a bit more than pancakes per day. :p
I'll let you know how yummy the pancakes were. You can always change your reservations and bring Teddy and his driver Dave with you.
