• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Entertainment harness confusion yet again!

OK I am still trying to help people with a Bluetooth harness for connecting to the Entertainment harness. As you know I have done it for direct connect to the radio RD02 connector but I still am trying to get the wiring to one of the CB connectors which the BT cable hooks to when you have the entertainment harness.

So I decided I would bite the bullet and just buy one. HOWEVER I go on Ebay or other sites and there are 3 models.

#219400201 - This appears to be the first model and is discontinued I guess. Plenty for sale though.

#219400439 - This is what the BRP site lists today but says temporarily unavailable!

I don't see any for sale on Ebay of this number and other cycle shops that sell BRP parts list it as out of stock. I few do have it.
WTF?

#219400534 - This is what Stevedfive listed as used on his 2014 and sent to him from BRP and his dealer. Other cycle shops that sell BRP parts list this as the replacement for #219400439

And if you look around enough on BRP's site sure enough for the XM radio they list needing #219400534

This makes it very difficult for someone wanting to buy one to know what the differences are with these cables and especially compatibility! Which do you order? Logic would say the #219400534

BRP really needs to fix their web page here and provide more information about what has changed with these. It might explain why some people have issues with things not working 100%. Perhaps they got the old cable and thus has some problem. There is a reason BRP changed part numbers! Stevedfive said that connectors changed on the #219400534 so if that's true I expect people will be having even more problems with this as time rolls on!

Sorry for the rant :gaah:
But I am frustrated!

Yeah..!!

and well you should be. They can get messy with their electrics. They must have inherited it from the English..they had some nightmare electrics on their old cars...:roflblack: You can try cheapcycleparts.com they may have one of them...:dontknow:

There should be some of the unused adapter cables around. Every BRP for BT Dongle kit has one and is not used if you have an entertainment harness. From it it should be easy to figure out the pinout on the plug.

I have asked before at least 3 times. No one offered up!

I got on the phone today with the person wanting me to make this BT cable for the entertainment harness. We mapped it out over the phone and with pictures. I think we have it :)
I am going to make his cable and send it to him. If it works, we have the answer!
I will post the pics of the wire mappings in my BT dongle cable thread later today.
