• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. EzGo Freedom RXV Golf Cart Question

OK, I know this is FAR off topic, but I need some help.

My precious Mother-In-Law (MIL) has an EZGO RXV golf cart that is having problems. I think it is a 2009 model (Date code JO209).

She is rather rough on it. Only two speeds: Stop, and WFO!!! Don't get in her way!!!!

Did I mention she turned 90 last June?

She has had new batteries and some other service work done on it. But, now it has an intermittent problem. The battery shows full charge. 'Forward' key position. Runs great for maybe 1/4 mile. Then, it stops! Hard brake (it has regenerative braking), Turn key to off then back to forward. It will limp and then begin to run properly - for a while.

This thing is new to me. I am trying to help her take care of it.

Any suggestions?

I took the golf cart to the local dealer/repair shop. They did a diagnosis and found that the 2009 cart had a battery with a bad cell. Also, I thought the batteries had been replaced a year of so ago. But, they had not. They were original. (My SIL confirmed the batteries had not been replaced - she monitored my MIL prior to MIL moving in with us.)

So, new batteries, some new battery cables, and a new headlight (MIL apparently broke it!) and it operates like new!!

How nice....🤗

Glad you were able to get this cleared up for her. Sounds like an energetic MIL and probably not happy without her wheels....

Thank you. I am glad, too.

I had hoped the wife would take her mother to the golf course close to our house today for a little practice. But, it has been raining off and on all day.

Maybe tomorrow.
