• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3L Rear Seat wont open, cable barely moves - any suggestions?

Hello all:

I have a 2022 F3 Limited that has an issue with removing the rear seat. Pushing and turning the key does not release it. I finally got it off by removing the right side body panel and pulling on the cable that runs to the latch. Once the seat was out of the way, I could watch the catch while trying the key again - it barely moves at all. Other than some problem with the main lock cylinder, what could be wrong? Has anyone else had a similar problem or have any suggestions?

Thanks

Try some lube on the latch and post lip. Pushing down on seat while unlatching can help also. The lube helped my '15.
With the seat off look at the latch to see if it is fully retracting.

Thanks for the input all. I think the problem is deeper than that though. When I removed the seat, I tried turning the key to operate the latch, and the catch barely moves. The key itself will only turn to lets say 1:00. I'm afraid to force it.

At the risk of sounding repetitive.

+ 1 on give it a lube. + the frunk while your there and just for giggles ya gas cap. And a sticky lock.

A small tube of powdered graphite or a pencil works in locks.

A little on the key goes a long way. Dont force it.
