I FINALLY got the chance to take the Ryker over to WV for a loong w/e (Concours Owners Group) bike rally in Marlinton. Loaded down with the full compliment of luggage (bags and top case), and my 2 gal. Rotopax extra gas container, the latter of which wasn’t necessary for this trip. Lowest mileage was 29.1 mpg when chasing a couple of bikes through some interesting roads, to the highest of 46.1 mpg for a more sedate run just out of town in a mountainous section on the way home yesterday. Most were in the mid to high 30’s, including the long jaunt on the Interstate at a continuous speed of ~67 mph using the cruise control for the last 100 or so miles home. No bizarre handling issues in extreme LH turns like before I installed the steering update kit fix, but I could feel Nanny kicking in occasionally to keep me from intentionally killing myself. An unexpected three-wheel drift in a curve on a wet road after a shower was interesting, but we just rode it out, keeping an even throttle, and we continued on. Reminded me of my old dirt track days of long ago.
Curious where things sat, I hooked up the BUDS2 when I got home. One Cluster fault showed with a B2D50 code saying that pins 10 and 20 of connector A were open or had a high current condition. I have no idea where connector A is located (Manual wiring diagrams are useless) or what the B2D50 code is, but no weird anomalies popped up and nothing stopped working during the entire 795 mile trip w/e. Both of the steering setting readings were still sitting with sub 1 deg. readings, so none of that changed. I’m very happy with the machine now that we’re getting some of these little niggling issues sorted out.
