I asked the following question via the forum contact interface a couple of times in the last month or so but never got a reply.
Thought I'd try again here ....
Hello,
I'm using spoiler BBCode tags in my signature to cut down on the initial visible size of the listed Spyder mods in my signature (which tends to annoy some members ... myself included ;-).
I can't seem to find a way to turn off the text "Spoiler: ..." from preceding my title on each spoiler button. An internet search suggested maybe a BBCode template can be modified to only include "Spoiler: " if the title is empty (?)
Anyway ... would appreciate any help with this.
I currently have 3 BBCode spoilers in my signature which shows this issue.
Thanks !!
Steve
I have played around with the idea of putting images under a spoiler button. It is not that complicated. All you need is the correct (or at least a correct) url for the image alone, which does not carry with it the entire url for the post. The ability to put images under a spoiler button is not turned off. I have done it several times and the images appear from under the buttons when they are clicked.
Right click the image, in the borders of the image, and tell it to open the image in a new tab. It should open only the image, in your case, only your state map of the states you rode. The URL for only the state map image as stored in the forum database will be in the browser address link at the top of the page.
All you have to do now is edit one of your spoiler buttons and place a line inside it to point to the img. Something like
[
img] url of the image [/
img] NOTE- I changed the color of the image tag to prevent it from disappearing when saved.
Save the post and next time that spoiler button is activated the map image will be in the list under that button.
You could create a new button for just the state map, but it is not required. I placed several images from various posts under a spoiler button with that method and all of them produced the same list that was under the button in text with image last after the text.
It works, I knew there had to be a way. As long as the images already posted are in the database of the forum, the only thing you need is the correct URL of the image alone, not associated with the rest of the post, to retrieve the image from the database and put it under a spoiler tag. The only requirement is that the image had to have been posted correctly onto the forum previously and that you can find where it was posted.
Edit - Even easier than that! I just uploaded an image not previously posted and inserted the thumbnail under a spoiler button and that works too. There does not seem to be anything blocking placing images under spoiler buttons. The one I just attached is under the first button about seat and frunk locks of the FAQ post.
I have opened a FAQs thread that has a lot of the frequently asked questions on the Forum Support And Testing Forum, using the bb code Spoiler buttons to keep the lists short and organized. It is working great. Might save the same questions being asked over and over again by some of the new people joining the forum. When you get the tutorial for shortening the signature section of posts finished, I would like to add that to the FAQs also.
