Friend looking into Spyders, either a 2016 RT or a 2019 RTL with pretty close mileage & price - any advice/comments/concerns?

Hi all,
This is very general I know, but I have a friend looking at either a 2016 RT or a 2019 RTL. Mileage and prices are pretty close.

Are there any general concerns of one over the other?

The 2019 have the fulll digital dash that I like a lot better than the pre 2018 RT's. Also if it is a chrome model, the 2019 chrome wheels are the best looking wheel ever put on a Spyder.

If the price is close, it is a no brainer to get the newer one.

RTL should have more stock options included. Concerns are service logs history & bulletin work up to date. Accessories installed properly & all functional. How long before next service?

Which one is your friend's choice?
Of the two Spyders, the newer one is most likely a good thing.
Definitely check out the tires. At 6 plus years they will need to be replaced. So that's a cost factor.

Do your homework before you purchase Anything.

He hasn’t chosen yet. I think he’s looking at the 2016 today.

I would buy as new a bike as my wallet could stand! Parts are a big factor when it comes down to a break down, BRP wants you to buy new, so they stop backing the parts, so you have to! Good luck ether one will be a good bike if it's been maintained.

I would lean to the 2019. The 2016 will be 10 yrs. old soon and dealers tend to not work on CanAms older than 10.

Buying used is certainly a crap shoot. I'm wondering why a 19 would be similarly priced to a 16, unless the 16 is overpriced? Or someone is trying to dump the 19?

I just purchased a '16 RT-L with only 945 miles on it. I was scared it had been sitting too long, but the dealer had the service records and told me it had been stored in a temp controlled garage. The first thing I did was put new tires on it since the date code was '15. So far, it's been perfect!
