Front tire size

I have a 2014 RT that has 165/55/R15 tires. Is there any clearance problem going with 175/55/R15 replacements.

Most don't, but I did on my 2014RT. Normal driving no issue, but when I pushed it hard in corners I would get rubbing on the lower inside fender.

Mike, thank you. That is the tire I was told to purchase from Tire Rack but my installer was concerned they would rub as mentioned in the first response. I was hoping someone else that has that particular size and make can confirm no issue. Tire Rack did not have the 165.

Try these two sellers, others have bought their Q-5's from them …. Simple tire and or Vulcan tire …… Mike hyea:....PS the 175/55-5 will fit , but the 165 is usually less money...… the Vredestein Q-5 already has way more traction then the Nanny will allow …. I bought the 165 for just that reason ….. Mike hyea:

i have the Q5's in 175' on my 17 RT and have a little over 5,000 miles with no issues and alot of twisty miles here in No. Georgia what a difference it made in handling absolutely on rails

Will the traction increase possibly -( repeat possibly ) however it will be so Slight only special instruments will be able to tell ….. and lateral traction is very controlled by the Nanny ….. here's how the Nanny works …. lets say you could pull 1- " G " on a 165 width tire and 1.2 G's with a 175 tire ….. the Nanny will only let you pull 1 G …. One last question, the tires from tire rack are 165/65, original tires 165/55, any concern with 65 vs 55.

NO , 65 vs. 55 is the aspect ratio ( ie the height of the tire at the sidewall ) and will have little or no meaning considering the low weight of the Spyder front end …… Mike hyea:

Please keep us posted on what you discover about it's handling and ride feel ( fellow members here love to hear about actual owner's opinions ) ….. My self and Peter A. recommend a lower PSI for Auto tires ie about 17 front and 18 rear ….. good luck ….. Mike hyea:

Blueknight911: The height of the tire sidewall does have a mineute affect on the caster angle of the steering. It's slight but it is a little.

Yes and I said " little or no meaning " …… imho even at 200 + plus MPH, the change in caster angle, wouldn't give me any concern as to the handling difference..... there used to be joke decades ago about the Princess who was upset about the Pea under Her pile of mattresses :gaah: …. No gotcha, Spyder's just have a very sensitive steering. Every little thing seems to effect them.

I have Continental ContiProContact in 175-55-15 on my 2014 RT-Ltd and they fit like a glove and I have no complaints with he ride or handling!

I have found thru testing and other knowledge basis - that front tires, that are over-inflated based on the weight they carry will be " Twitchy "....this generally doesn't occur with Auto's & Trucks because the Max on the tires isn't enough to make it noticeable ….. Mike hyea:
