There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Front tires for a change

I know we've all talked tires to death but my searches have only thrown up results for rear tires on RS's, only references to different front ones have been for RT's.

Up until now I've kept to the Kenda's on the front as they do the job. But they are stupidly expensive over here at the moment so wondered if any other RS riders have tried different front tires and if so what?

I want to keep to the same size etc as stock. I'm not interested in longer wearing etc so want at least equal grip to the Kenda's. Ideally better grip as I have managed to slide the front-end a couple of times on mountain roads:-)

That's easy!! Just get whatever makes the same size in
pretty much ANY OTHER BRAND OF TIRE!!

Well that had gone through my mind:-)

My only worry was that the Kenda's have pretty soft side walls which may actually be a benefit on the front (it's not on the back which is why I have a Toyo). I wondered if a tire with a stiffer sidewall may actually cause the tire to 'skip' outwards more on tight corners or cause the inside wheel to lift easier.

Just don't generalize about stiffer sidewalls. I put car tires on my RT and it handles and rides much better. It all depends what is available in your area.

i just put on the arachnid tires all around about a week ago, put maybe 50 -70 miles so far as it has been raining and I've been sick, they seem to be ok will let you know the more i get to ride on them

I took the tires off the bike. Took them to the local tire store. He mounted a new set of bridgestone's and balanced with no problems.

You must have 14inch fronts as Bridgestone does not make a tire that fits the 15s unfortunatly. The Bridgestones are good tires.

For the 15 inch fronts, we are recommending and installing the Continentals which seem to have about the same grip as the Kenda and a slightly stiffer side wall. At least they do not roll over to the side as easily.

That is right I do have 14 inch front tires. 2011 RT Going through a wind storm in New Mexico and Arizona last week. Right right tires showed a lot of wear.

Don't know. ..!!

Not a car tire person and do find good deals on Kendas through ebay etc but that is local. I am going to try the Arachnid Vee Rubber tire on the back next regardless of the grumblings here and depending on the performance may do the fronts. But you have a good selection above for car tires and should get more...If you go auto let us know how that works out ...we sport ryders want to know...

Had a look and I can't get the Arachnid ones from a supplier in NZ but there's some on Ebay that will ship to NZ (it costs an extra $120). Even then it still works out a lot cheaper than the Kenda's sourced locally so will be interested to hear how yours go once you've had a chance to ride them a bit more.

Bridgestones have been mentioned several times and I should be able to get those locally so will check the price on those. Have noticed it's RT owners who mention them so has anyone tried them on an RS?
