Garmin Map Update

For those of you with a Garmin GPS with lifetime maps. A new map version 2018.3 was released for download, sometime this morning.

Please note that it appears that Windows users need to update to Garmin Express version 5.7.1.0 first.

Thanks, I usually uninstall GE after I update my maps so I'll always get the current one when going back for the next set. Just keep the data if you do the same thing. Then it recognizes all 6 of my different Garmin's..... on my computer that is...

Update

I just updated mne and now mine will not locate ANY address. I do t know why but i wish i had not updated it now.:banghead:

Reinstall the map. Remember it could take 1 to 3 hrs to complete.

I updated yesterday and have been working on routes. I did notice after I had it done, I had to manually go to the maps tab and select the new version CITY NAVIGATOR NORTH AMERICA NT 2018.3. The 2018.1 version was still checked.

Silly question. The Garmin Zümo 590 that comes with 2017 RT's - is that lifetime or not? I am new to Garmin's. Does the 590 LM stand for lifetime?

As others have said the LM stands for Lifetime Maps.

It is my understanding that all Zumo 590 are LM. Some folks have had a problem in that Garmin Express says they are not and ask them to pay for the map update. If this happens to you, just call Garmin and explain and they will fix it.

If you have a Zumo 660 it could be a LM or not. Remove the battery and under it will be a label. If the model number has LM in it. It is a lifetime update map model.

i just have a nuvi 57lmt. we carry it with us. the t stands for traffic.
it took me 2 times to get everything to go. not really tech savvy.

My update automatically checked the latest version. In Windows you can go to to Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall the older map versions.
