Goggles

I'm looking for some good goggles to wear with my 3/4 helmet. I'm talking about real riding (or aviation) goggles that have a strap that fit over the helmet. There's dozens of brands out there...anyone have any experience with them?

I've ridden ORVs for decades and used all of the brands, at one time or another. However, I only use shatterproof motorcycle wrap around sunglasses available at your local HD dealer. The set that I use is photochromic, and starts light enough to use a night, and ends up dark enough for most daytime usage.

These are light, comfortable, and expensive….

Go to an HD dealer. They probably have the best goggles for your use.

Leatherup.com has aviation style goggles. Not sure why you want them over the helmet, seems like air will get inside and water the eyes. I wear goggles all the time and put them on before the helmet. But everyone has their on way of doing things..

The strap goes over the helmet, but the goggles still fit tightly to the face. Racers generally wear the strap outside so the goggles can be pulled down if they get oiled. Motorcyclists often wear the strap outside so the goggles can be raised to prevent fogging when stopped. The only real headache with that is that the straps can slip easily on the helmet, letting the goggles fall off when pulled up. Helmets used to have a goggles strap loop in the back, to prevent that, and some manufacturers offered accessory goggles strap loops, but those have gone the way of the dodo.

P.S. I wear mine outside the helmet. You can't retrain an old racer.

What kind do you wear?

I wear either Halcyon or old war surplus goggles (and replicas) from my racing days. There are probably better choices, but I am a creature of habit.

Hi i bought some good goggles from a dirt bike shop they may not look as cool as sunnies but they come in any colour and price.

Since I'm required to wear prescription glasses I needed a set of goggles that would go on over the glasses and keep the wind out. Aside from old eyes I also have dry eye and Restasis can only do so much and not much at 65 mph. Anyway I started with a set of Big Bens, they were okay with one pair of glasses but not so hot with another set. Actually a bit painful as they shoved the glasses back into my face. I now have a set of Smith Optics off road style that work fine. I can wear either pair of glasses and my half helmet without the wind being bothersome. With the cooler weather I've gone to a 3/4 with face shield that also does well.
