• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

GPS Route Tracking App...

I have been ryding some real sweet roads the last few weekends (hit the beach at Half Moon Bay last Sunday) and decided to search for a GPS route tracking app. Tried Triplog, but wasn't what I wanted. MyTracks was okay, but seemed more for exercise/fitness jogging type routes rather than motorcycle routes. Do any of you out there use an Android app to track the routes you are ryding? If so, which app do you recommend?

Some friends have been sharing some nice routes and I didn't want to lose track of the roads driven. Sure, I could use the old Rand McNalley, but i'm searching for a higher tech solution for the Android platform. I know i'm not the first one travelling down this road (metaphorically speaking, of course), so i'm hoping there will be some good recommendations that will save me more of the old trial & error.

Thanks all!!!

I don't have an Adroid device, but interested to see what people see because I'm sure there are similar apps for "the other" systems.

Motionx ap for IPhone works great. You can check if they have a droid version . I use it when I am not using my Zunio660

For Android check out: https://spotwalla.com/ there is an free app that will push your data points up to a server and will track your trip. We have used this to allow others to know where we are, this is similar to a SPOT device without the cost.

Thanks all

Larry, I didn't find MotionX in the Google app store unfortunately.

kyace2003, I checked out Spotwala & they looked interesting so I downloaded an app called Bubbler which interfaces with Spotwala. I'm playing around with it now, but won't know much until my next road trip.

Appreciate the helpful suggestions!!!

Have you considered asking Rattigan_Roger about developing one?
He's gotten rather fluent in Droid; and might be able to help you out!

Jack turned me on this app and we both now use it on our Nexus 7 tablets.

OsmAnd+ the best one so far, has endless settings to configure it; GPS is full featured but awkward putting in addresses to search for. Maps are good quality and detailed and constantly being improved as it is an International effort. Read up on it via Google...

Excellent suggestion. Roger, if you're out there and are interested...I'm willing to be a test subject

There is an app called "My Tracks" that will record your route along with elevation and speeds. It will sync with Google drive so you can share if you desire.
