• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hard shifting out of reverse

My wife's 2015 F3-S SM6 is really hard to get out of reverse. I (6"2") have to hold the clutch with my right hand and pull the shifter with my left hand. I did move the pegs back one position from the stock setting. I notice there is a shifter linkage just inside the frame. Could the adjuster be out of adjustment since moving the pegs.

Also need to find information regarding the vacuum assistance kit for the clutch.

Thanks

Got a chance to look at my wife's F3-S SM6. Bike was hard to shift out of R and 1st. Appears when I moved the pegs back one hole, the shifter rod was not the correct length. Found there was preload on the shifter shaft. The shifter lever was at a 70* angle to the foot peg making it hard for her to shift. I removed the front sprocket cover and found an adjustable linkage. Took the preload off the shifter shaft which also lowered the shifter lever. Now shifts easily.

Welcome to the Forum and posting Da! :2thumbs:

Not being an F3 owner myself, despite having ridden a few & set up a few for others, I believe that if you move the pegs at all on the F3's you usually need to purchase & fit the necessary different length brake & shift rods. :dontknow: Probably not a great deal of help, but here's the ufit 'height guide':

AFAIK, each of the 5 different peg positions require different length rods.... But maybe you've lucked out with your adjustment & the resulting lever position, and you've managed to avoid having to change the rod itself while still maintaining a usable pedal/lever position.

Sorry, can't help any on the vacuum assist for the clutch.... :sour:

I did get the rod kit to move the pegs rearward from my CanAm dealer. Seems the specs for the rod were slightly off. Thanks for the response. Think I'm gonna like this place.
