• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Helmet air conditioner needed...

Many full face helmets have great ventilation...read reviews online and get one of these...I have a HJC IS-16 Scratch...riding in 90+ HHH weather in Balt/DC area isn't too much fun in the summer, but my helmet does allow some good air exchange...plus, I wear an under armour head thingy...feels good!

I have the Vekimo for my RT. It works very well. It won't help your helmet, but the water cooled vert i great in hot weather, and is not affected by the humidity at all. Other than looking like an astronaut I have no complaints

Their website is simply www.veskimo.com

That's pretty slick!

They should do a helmet liner with those tubes in it so you can hook it up to their system. I find if I keep my head cool--- the rest of the body is fine.

That is hot! And I thought the 80's were hot here today. I rode to work w/ a doorag on my head. Then I rode home with no rag, no helmet, only a pair of sunglasses. I'll tell ya, I like my shorty - it's a beanie - barely noticeable weight wise and I thought I'd be better w/ no helmet. Not the case after today. My beanie has a little lip on the front and that actually keeps the sun off my forehead and out of my eyes. So I'll be wearing my beanie from now on. Plus my lovely red hair doesn't get all knotted up like it did today!

I've been in the north Georgia for the past few days. Hot,
d:cus: hot... on the 15th 104 near macon and 102 on the 16th. Only God knows what it will be today. Brains are slow roasting in a full helmet, half helmet and I won't ride without a helmet. That's the law I enacted for myself many years ago. What we need is the brains to get together and design a helmet cooler. I have some ideas but need some thermal dynamics information. Haven't found it yet but I'm looking. A little skull type cap and one dual tube connector which could be right beside your intercom connector. Ken krb1945

scudrunner is the cap your referring to the one listed in one of the above posts? And did I understand the helmet stays dry and your head is cool? Sounds like this is the type of thing I need.

We use Shoei multitec helmets with excellent ventilation systems but with the air temp 99 and higher it is still so hot in the helmet it becomes miserable.

someone on a post above hit the nail on the head... a skull cap with the cooling tubes. I find if I can keep my head cool the rest seems to be ok. Ken krb1945

No it's not the CoolMedics® Adult Cooling Cap (which looks like a yamaka!). I got the Lawrence of Arabia LD Comfort helmet liner from GoAz. The inside of the material (next to your head) stays dry, but the outside (next to the helmet) stays moist. It isn't dripping wet, but it is wet.

I don't think the CoolMedics cap would work under a helmet, looks like there would be some pretty sever pressure points. I doubt if a cool tube helmet liner would work unless it is integrated with the helmet lining. Too many pressure points and it would be cold where the tubes are running. Lots of opportunities for a severe headache.

Scuddrunner... need help on that helmet liner your talking about. I went to www.GoAz.com and searched and couldn't find it. Bear in mind... sometimes I can't see for looking. So help me out here. Am I looking at the correct web site? Many thanks for the help. Ken krb1945

This is what the one I just ordered yesterday looks like:
S-7001-250.jpg

It is supposed to be very thin, and comfortable, according to the testimony of police motorcycle patrolman. I have to reserve judgement on that until mine arrives and I actually get to try it myself. Another good thing is it should work well for those of you who wear the half helmets to.

Anyway, here is another link to the order page with more details if anyone is interested in this Helmet Cool Cap:

cool shirt

hey man's look i just received my cool shirt from cool shirt. this thing is frekin awesome. i was dying to try it and when i hooked it up oh my god it was soooo coo. i will have to see where i can put it on spider due to the tubes that it hooks to to pump the water the cooler woud fit in either compartment but i think it would be best in driver side saddle but needs to be able to hook to 12v. the two holes would neet to be about 3/8 inch round. any ideas on which would be better///

the helmet issue they sell a a shirt with a hood that has the tubing in it that would be great for hot areas.. i ordered a vest and waist porta pack that keeps you cool up to say 3hrs look into it its sorta expensive but tis well worth it..:spyder2:

Well I decided to order the LD Comfort helmet liner and LD comfort Sleeves. I like the idea of some protection on my neck. We're going to give them a good test and will report here after the test. The video on the above post is a good selling pitch... so me when I saw the difference on that laser thermometer. However, I do like the idea of the jacket and cool water being pumped through the tubes. I look at them too. I guess there is a cool front today... it's only 98 here today. Ken krb1945
