How many Spyder Riders have had a Hip replacement? How does it work for you?

Just had my hip replaced three weeks ago. So far, recovery is going well, I do not need the cane or walker anymore. How do you know if you have a infection and what should I look for? Does age mean anything? I'm 78 young and I have put up with this hip for a few years. I'm now feeling much better.

If you did it is obvious. Extreme chronic pain, and the wound refuses to fully close, or starts draining again. Swelling, redness, and very warm. Mine was a disaster, picture any cyst or skin infection you've ever had (swelling, puss, etc), and multiply it by a joint. Sounds like you are past the high risk stage, but I'd advise antibiotics for any dental work, etc.

I'm 78, had both knees and 1 hip replaced... no problems! The Spyder RT is the most fun machine I've ever ridden.

At age of 82, I've had a complete left Hip replacement replacement with a Titanium assembly. An extreme amount of preparation and work prior to the op and then during and after the operation to prevent any infection along with what they call an 'Operation guided by Robot' resulted in a new Hip, a very quick recovery, and no pain. Works like a charm with no issues on either my Motorcycles, the Spyder, or long walks. I completely forgot about it after a year or so, unless the subject is brought up. If available, the robot is the way to go. The Surgeon still does all the cutting, splicing, and placement, but the entire procedure is extremely accurate. No matter what I do, I am not aware of any issues, completely as good as new. Walking, day one.
