How To Attend a Vintage Motorcycle Show

NancysToy

How does a SpyderLover get his vintage bike to a vintage motorcyle show? Why he hitches it to his RTS and hits the road, of course. I took my 1958 Simplex bobber to another vintage motorcycle show recently. Thought you might like to see the rig. Thanks to Cruisin Dave for building this nifty trailer and offering it up for sale here on SpyderLovers!

Nice one.

Yep, nice one. I remember it being for sale. Would of loved to be there and see everybody's faces when you came pulling in. Thanks for sharing. Jerry

Very cool! :2thumbs:

Do you know anyone selling an Army green Harley WLA that's not in museum condition? That's the only vintage bike I want, but they're either converted to civilian paint jobs or maintained by uber collectors. I want one that I can occasionally ride.

A buddy of mine from work was asking me about my ride to Cement City. I told him it was great but I had a little trouble at first. I said I stopped it at your house for a little help but you had already left for the bike show at Perry's. He said that he went to that show and saw one of those touring Spyders with a small motorcycle trailer hooked up to it. I told him that "that would be Scotty".

That's a heck of a nice piece there man. That's some history on that trailer! Pretty nice trailer too! Are you going to paint it to match your RT?

Nah, it doesn't match any of the vintage stuff anyway, and would not look good in Timeless Black, IMO. I'll tell you a little secret about black paint at shows...it disappears! Any other color, or a bunch of chrome, will outshine the most carefully restored black motorcycle every time. Same goes for trailers, I figure...besides, they are less visible on the road, and a bear to keep clean.

Let me tell you about my black Z3. :gaah: So I send it out to be detailed.

Scotty,
Glad to see you are making good use of the trailer. I miss it sometimes, but I just wasn't using it. Although, it was fun to haul lumber on it a couple times!

Here's a pic from it's past life:
