How to remove gasoline stain?

So yesterday gas shot out while filling it up and now the black spot and my colored panel is white. How can I remove the stain?

I would just try dish soap and water first before using any chemical.

I washed mine with soap and water. Had no effect. I then used olive oil on the whole panel with the stained area.. Applied fairly thick, let set, then rubbed dry and buffed. Did the same thing a couple days later. It turns the white black but the gas etches the plastic so you still faintly see the stain. It will never totally go away.

I did find though that the olive oil makes the matte black plastic look great. Once you buff it off it leaves a deep satin finish with no oily residue.

I have found the best solution is to not let the stain set in the first place. When I have a fueling accident on any of my bikes, I immediately grab a paper towel that most gas stations have for window washing, and soak it in the widow washing solution. I then very gently flood the spill with the solution. I then grab another towel, soak it, and wring it out until it is only slightly damp, and then gently wipe the area until it is almost dry. By doing this, I have never had a stain on the paint.

Try some baby or mineral oil. They also make this stuff called Back to Black...
