There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. I'm having Intermittent Bluetooth Connection Issues on my 2021 RT Ltd...

I have an 2021 RT Limited (SE6) cruiser, and I am having a Bluetooth issue that is driving me nuts. I have had this issue for a while now, and I see there are other people who are having the same problem. What is happening is the Bluetooth audio cuts out randomly. I had an iPhone 15 Pro Max and then upgraded to an iPhone 17 Pro Max. Exact same issue with both phones. The Dealership has checked to see if there is a firmware update and no, there is not. The firmware on the bike has been updated. I have been trying to find the Bluetooth antenna on the bike, but I think it is just built into the 7.8” wide console. I have tried unpairing and re-pairing the phone. I’ve tried just about everything. It does not matter if I am moving or just sitting in the driveway. It does not matter if the USB cable is connected (which is only used for BRP Connect), same issue. The Dealership tried reproducing the issue and of course, they could not. I spoke with a tech representative in Quebec today, and they stated they will email me back on this. There’s nothing in the manual. I do not know what version of Bluetooth these Spyders use, but the Bluetooth implementation they are using is garbage.

Have you seen this thread linked below?? (It always pays to search first. ;))

Post #10 in particular might be of some help?

And there are some links to youtube in this thread below that might help:

Mind you, I personally never have any issues with the bluetooth connections between the U-Clear units me'n the Child Bride use for comms when riding 2-up; when we bother, we even occasionally very successfully connect to other riders when in a group; and the links to my phone & GPS always work exactly how I want them to as well - but then my Spyder is a 2013 RT Ltd, so it didn't have any of the (unnecessary and proving to be quite problematic to many) bluetooth failures facilities that BRP added to the later models. 😁

All the Spyder riders I know who do have those later model Spyders with BRP's bluetooth failures facilities have ended up doing the same as me - simply ignore the BRP stuff completely; use bluetooth headsets linked to each other for comms; and link at least one headset to a GPS &/or phone if you want GPS directions, music, &/or to have access to a phone while you're riding. 😏

BRP does has some pretty good ideas, some not so good &/or even wanted by many, but they very often really fail on the delivery/execution of said ideas... and other things! 😖

Just Sayin' ;)

Hi Peter. Yes... I have searched and searched and searched, and I did come across this thread. I am probably going to have to pay the dealership to apply the old firmware which is not something I feel I should be paying for (out of warranty) because this is not user error. If I have to, then I will wired with the bike's 1/8" jack to phone. I am going to attach a screenshot of the firmware version I am running, and I do believe it is the latest firmware.

I may have found something though. I noticed if I have the USB connected to the phone, then everything seems to be ok. No cutting out or anything. Still testing this. I thought the USB was only used for BRP Connect and not audio? I then tested without the USB cord connected. Tons of audio problems with it. I cannot attach the 2 videos I took with both scenarios because I do not believe this forum allows it.

You should be able to attach videos, IIRC you just select the 'Media' button in the top line if the post entry field (it's the over-lapping picture icons between the smiley face and the quotation marks in that top selection bar) then insert the URL, but it does need to be on t he right platforms. ;)
