• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: BRP SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 7-19-09

Good Luck Brian

Just called my dealer and they told me they were aware of the recall but that BRP has not sent them any information about what is needed to correct the problem???? :dontknow:

not true...my dealer told me that the groundwire is a Recall and to bring mine in...he look up my vin and said brp had issued a recall for certain vins, mine being one. he said the steering recall also applies to my bike
Well, your dealer can call it anything he wants, but it is not a recall. All recalls are listed on the NHTSA Web site, and this is not included (there are only two), nor are the parking brake "recall", the GPS "recall", etc. BRP calls them campaigns and issues service bulletins to dealers to deal with them. Still listed by model and VIN#, but just in their system. Recalls are public and require notice, service bulletins are not and are handled by dealers.

i dont care what they call them, as long as they fix them

From posts so far, it looks like some owners have been called by dealers and other have just taken their Spyder in for the fix. Has anyone actually received the official recall letter from BRP yet?

Question was answered today as official recall letter showed up.

got my letter today

I'm glad you got your letter; this will make it easier when I take mine to Filer's. Have you been in touch with Filer's since the news broke?

I haven't gotten my letter yet; but, you purchased your spyder before me.

Well, I'm joining the club. I just got my letter today about the steering recall.:yikes: I didn't think mine was one of them but, as luck would have it, I got drafted. I'll keep ya' posted on my results.
