• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

In search of an Ultimate Trailer OHT3 designed for hauling Spyders - any input?

Whoops

Recently purchased my first Spyder RTS and while hunting for my bike, I was introduced to one of the Ultimate Trailers manufactured out of Colorado. Now I am in search of one that is for sale. The company website is non functioning and FB posting complain of support from owners. Does anyone know of an OHT3 for sale by owner? Awaiting your valued inputs…

I spent a lot of money on a new Ultimate Trailer in Jan of '24 and have been woefully disappointed. My suggestion - buy a small utility trailer with a drop axle.

Not judging, but why not get a simple utility trailer that would be useful in many other ways?
See reply below - yes sir - moving on!

Yes sir, @spyderdave. I did a bunch more research and have moved on from trying to secure one of these types of trailers. My wife also asked me last night about how we were going to haul tree debris to the recycle dump in N Georgia, as we are still clearing our lot there. Answer was, we were not.

Have a blessed day🙏

Check out Bear Track BTU65120S. My '22 RTS fits nice, no extra ramps needed to load, and it locks down with ztrack and car haul over tire straps. I hauled it from Iowa to South Texas and back, no problems.

I have the same type enclosed trailer as Albec. It works great for the Spyder and many other uses as well, and was a lot cheaper!

Who makes it, where did you get it and about how much was it, if you don’t mind saying.
I don't mind you asking at all. I bought the trailer from a local company that sells trailers, if you really need the name, let me know and I'll dig it up.

I paid $3k for the trailer brand new 10 years or so ago. I bought it originally to haul my Kawasaki behind our motorhome. The brand is Wells Cargo model is called CargoTrac and as I said, it works perfectly for the Spyder.

I towed the Spyder from E.TN to Nor-Cal and never even had to adjust the tie downs in 3,000 miles, course I already had this trailer for hauling my side x side.

Thank you! I am looking for an enclosed trailer suitable for a Spyder and as inexpensive as possible… no luck so far.

Their new website is the same as before without the hyphens theultimatetrailers.com. I've used my OHT3 for 10+ years and I loved it. no problems at all. The trailer bed lowers to the ground in seconds for loading and unloading in minutes; making it both safe for me as the driver a for my Spyder that has a very low ground clearance.
The AeroRock shield and the fully enclosed fenders have effectively protected my Spyder from road debris -sand, rocks, etc. The Can-Am Spyder tie down package makes securing the my Spyder on the trailer easy fast and effective. I highly recommend this trailer to anyone that is looking to tow their Spyder safely and effortless ly
unfortunately I'm in the process off selling my OHT3 on Facebook. link https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/3241633182708479/

I bought a Spyder specific trailer from Kendon in California. Works brilliantly and folds up for storage at the back of the garage. Has integral wheels to roll it around upon when folded and upright. It will also allow for Harley Trikes, and Gold Wing size touring bikes, no problem.

Costs a little more; with a spare tire, alloy wheels and LED lights options it was under $6K with free shipping. Probably a bit more now. It is very high quality though, light years above Home Depot type trailers.

The standard of construction is first class. Support was good as well. It can be unpacked and assembled by one person, but it's easier to at least unpack off the vertical crate with two people to start with. The welds were good and the finish is very resilient. The diamond plate floor is corrosion resistant and there are suitable tie down points.

Towing it, you hardly know it's there.

Whichever trailer you use, be sure to insure it as part of the Spyder's insurance, or the tow vehicle's insurance. Mines on the Spyder's policy.

I went with a Stinger CAN-AM Trailer, which also folds up and stores in a corner of my garage.

Here's my Spyder loaded up, but with the loading ramps still down.
