Apart from engine braking until you get your speed down to about 6-10 kph, when you can use the Park Brake on the SE's, then NO, there's no alternative to the foot pedal activated brakes. 
But the brakes are a dual circuit system, the rear reservoir on the master cylinder serves the front brakes, while the front reservoir serves the rear brake, so it should be an extremely rare event that sees you entirely without brakes.

A problem with the hydraulic brake system will likely give warning before complete failure.
Pay attention and check things out if you notice a spongy pedal, or if anything just doesn't feel right.
Just remember to check your brake linkage regularly, especially the fasteners and pins that secure the link at the pedal and master cylinder.
If that fails, better be looking for an escape ramp.
