I think protecting myself when I'm not surrounded by metal in a vehicle is a good idea.

I'll ride ATGATT when I ride, you can ride helmet only.

Yes, I have. I broke my elbow. That was in the 70s before affordable armored protective gear was commonly available as it is now. I'm definitely ATGATT on 2-wheelers.

Maybe extremely unlikely, but the way folks drive around here I think it would be the most likely cause of my having an accident on my Spyder.

Thank you for that. I too am looking to continue and contribute to an interesting discussion, not impose my opinions on others or offend people with a different point of view. My follow up questions are for clarification, not to be argumentative. But, it seems, I need to just shut up, so I will.

I think the difference in injury accident likelihoods between motorcycles and Spyders is not really relevant. In both cases you don't have a protective crumple zone cage around you, with seatbelts and airbag systems.

I agree. Collisions between a cageless vehicle and an object of much greater mass are not going to end well for the rider, regardless of the number of wheels on said cageless vehicles. Also, regardless of ATGATT compliance by the rider, other than a helmet, I think.
