• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

On Sept. 11, 2001, as smoke rose from the World Trade Center site, American astronaut Frank Culbertson was aboard the International Space Station, soaring high over Earth.

"I didn't know exactly what was happening," he recalled, "but I knew it was really bad, because there was a big cloud of debris covering Manhattan."

Soon after, of course, he learned that planes had struck the World Trade Center. He captured this haunting photo of smoke rising from the site.

"It's horrible to see smoke pouring from wounds in your own country from such a fantastic vantage point," he said later. "The dichotomy of being on a spacecraft dedicated to improving life on the Earth and watching life being destroyed by such willful, terrible acts is jolting to the psyche, no matter who you are."

NEVER FORGET

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds. I hope everyone flew their flags today and will continue to do so, just like we did following 9/11. NEVER FORGET

Great impact..!!

that is an impressive shot. That shows the far reaching extent of the whole event...never again..

I say this with the greatest respect to those who lost their lives, but following 9-11 our government put restrictions on our freedoms in place that remain to this day. What others did to us pales in comparison to what we have done to ourselves. We succeeded at taking our own freedom away in ways that no terrorist organization could ever do, and did so under such names at the "Patriot Act" and through institutions such as "Homeland Security."

This has not been limited to one side of the isle.

Perhaps we need to focus less on our flags, and more on the freedoms they represent.

For the OP, I don't disagree with you, and I'm not criticizing your thoughts, I simply felt compelled to add my own.

If you're a law-abiding citizen; the safeguards imposed upon us have little deleterious effects...
I'm all about freedom also; but we don't live in a safe place...

That is also the response of many totalitarian governments. The tradeoff of the illusion of safety for privacy and freedom isn't one that I believe in.

We will not forget and be strong and strong enough to talk in a peaceful way.

Lets give a peace a change. God Bless America.
