Last Ride of 2012 Pics/Posts

Well, it's 38F and raining here in Arkansas. There's still a little ice on my driveway I'm hoping will wash off this morning. So any cruising time I get on my Spyder today will likely be just around the neighborhood.

But if any of you get out this last day of 2012, post a picture or let us know what you did.:doorag: I know it's warm somewhere!

What a year 2012 has been and my SpyderLovers friends made it all the richer. Here's to a great 2013!

OUR LAST RIDE OF 2012!!



Bruisersbaby and I took a ride to Cliffs of the Neuse, one of our State parks near us. It was a cool ride, but we enjoyed just getting out on some of the back roads for the last day of 2012. Happy New Year!!

Last day of the Year ride

There was an official gathering in Stockton, Alabama called the last day of the year ride, some riders came from Washington, New Jersey and New York, DocRags invited me to join in. It was a cool 28 degrees ride from Wilmer, Alabama there. As usual there was a crowd around mine and Cheryl's Spyder RT's, I took my RT622 also, had lots of riders interested in purchasing my RT622 on the spot. This ride was on 12/30/12, I rode my RT to work Monday and back home.

I could not ryde yesterday 31st as had a busy day at my office.:banghead:BUT to make up for it at 8am today a couple of us taking a nice ryde down the coast.My 1st ryde of 2013.hyea:Forecast today sunny and a balmy high of 79degrees.:yes:Happy New Year and safe riding to all.

With snow most of the day yesterday, there was no "last ryde" on New's Year Eve............last one was on Christmas Eve morning but didn't take any pictures :dontknow:. First ryde on the year is likely to be on Thursday for a Patriot Guard Mission!:doorag:

Too much snow

No 'last day ryde' for us...2-3 inches of snow and slush and fender-benders all over town.

No first ryde here either. Was supposed to meet up with the Blue Knights for our annual 1st. ryde. Rain moving in. Oh well...

I headed out on the Last Ride of the Year with four of the other PGR members...it was 32 degrees out when we left and 37 when we got to Stockton AL. We warmed up over a good old country breakfast, then headed back outside to check out the bikes. As Randy said, there were bikes from all over, with quite a few Iron Butt members. Saw one plate holder someone had that was for riding 1500+ miles in 24 hours...not something I will ever have! Funniest license plate I saw was "SADLSOR," but I didn't manage to get a picture of it. Oldest bike that I saw someone ride in on was a 1952 bike. Randy and I had the only two Spyders, and they generated a LOT of interest...especially when I used my reverse upon leaving. It was a balmy 54 by the time I got home; warm enough by then that I turned the heated grips down to low! Hopefully next year's event will be a little warmer...this IS the South!

Beautiful pics! So glad you got to ride! We got almost 2" of rain and it never got above 40F. Weird weather to end 2012.

Jan 1 ride in N. IL

I got an hour ride on Christmas but no ride on the 31st, too much ice and snow. I did get out for a 40 mile ride today around town. It was 17 degrees out when I left the house, got some thumbs up from some drivers and a lot of looks.

I ran into a woman at the hospital when I was coming in after the hockey game (around 40 degrees at the time). She did a double take after seeing me with motorcycle gear on, turned around and asked if I'd been riding a bike. "Um...yeah. I sure was!" banghead: Duh!) She then said she was always razzing her coworker about "not having any balls if he doesn't ride in weather like this." "Um...I don't have any and I do ride in weather like this!" LOL. :roflblack:

I've rode in these temp every winter and had people ask if I rode my snow mobile to the store or to dinner.
