• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Latch and trunk light not working!!!

I just realized the trunk switch doesn't seem to be working and neither is the trunk light. Are the two somehow connected? The switch lights up, so there seems to be no power issue. could this be a blown fuse? If so, any idea which one?

Both items are tied into the F8 fuse, which also regulates, through the load shedding relay : suspension relay, heated grips, front storage compartment light, storage cover actuator, switches illumination and fog lights.

Take a look at your F8 fuse and R5 relay. Just a thought.

Be sure the Spyder is running (or just shut off) for the switch and light to work. It does not work with just the key on. If they still is not functional, check fuse F8 as well as the lever on the microswitch under the trunk lid. Both work via the microswitch. The light is very hard to see because it is not very bright, so if it is working but the switch is not, you probably need latch adjustment and/or lubrication.

I feel like an idiot. That was totally it. I tried it running and just after being shut off and it worked fine. I've tried it a bunch of times, but the key was on and I was playing around with the Spyder and it was a no go. You know... The little light should really turn off.. :banghead:

Sometimes I think Can Am enjoys screwing with our heads, or keeping us on our toes (you pick one), because on my '11 RT-S SE, I can open the Frunk by turning the key to the on position and pushing the button, within several seconds. Doesn't seem to be the same for every :spyder2:. :dontknow:

:opps: Oops, I forgot that someone said they did change that on the newer RTs. Thanks, Anita.

Figured it out! Thanks to CyncySpyser's post of pre- deliver pics. It was the latch senoid leads. Also study the pics and saw wherebit connected. Latch opens fine!
Love SpyderLovers!

2010 models do need to have the engine running... :opps:

There! Another reason for an upgrade!

There has to be a way around this. I'm sure someone here has done this mod. It would take a lot more than that for me to upgrade, especially since I've gone through all of the 2010isms already and added all heat control mods. All that remains is the soft shocks.

Sorry, it would take some rewiring. The 2010 light/latch are fed through the load-shedding relay.
