• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Leaky tire valve stem

Can you help me answer these questions regarding the 2010 Can Am Spyder RS-T that I purchased last week.
When removing the rear tire valve cap to check the tire pressure, the air in the tire continuously comes out.
So the tire stem must not be working properly. When capped, the pressure stays constant.
May questions are this?

- is it safe to ride the motorcycle with the valve cap securely in place which stops the air discharge?
- if I bring it into a dealer will the valve need to be replaced by removing the tire or can a valve insert be easy to replace without tire removal?

Would appreciate some advice soon so I can make any corrective action.
Thanks,
O'Key

Could try tightening the air valve itself. Tool costs a couple bucks and it probably is something to try before taking it to someone to get fixed.

Worth trying to tighten the Schrader air valve inside the valvestem

Worth trying to tighten the Schrader air valve inside the valvestem.. Unless the valve stem itself is busted, but likely you can use the little T-tool to tighten the valve core...spray a little silicone oil spray into the valve stem, and the cap and give it a try!

....Forget the Dealer :roflblack: .... go to any Auto parts store and ask for a " valve stem removal tool " you can use it to tighten the loose valve that you now have...... I can't believe the actual valve insert is not there but if it's gone completely they can sell you one also ....... A quick fix can be had at almost any gas station they should let you use theirs for free ....... just insert it in the valve and turn clockwise to tighten then add air ....... Mike

Go to any auto store buy a set of these valve caps you can tighten/remove valve stem cores with them.

And a set of valve stem cores couple of bucks. Take out the old stem put in a new one.
