• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Long Arms. Seat Options?

I rode around 300 miles yesterday on a stock seat. At some point during the ride, I decided to scoot backwards to change some angles for a while (was in a hurry, so long stops weren't on the agenda). I hit the lip of the seat, which is unfortunately placed at what feels like the best riding position for my frame. I kept going back on the seat, and was reasonably comfortable driving from the pillion position, but it pulled me a little more leaned forward than would be comfortable over the long haul.

Yes, I have long arms and legs (37" sleeves, 38" inseam). What I'm wondering is there anyone who has made a seat without a distinct separation between the two positions. :dontknow:

Mine is almost flat front to back. I had it custom made back in Jan of 08. It was one of the first things I did to the Spyder to make it more comfortable for me.

I find it works great to allow you to stretch out more.

That's beautiful! It still looks like it has a short seat back about where the stock seat does, though. Does your seatmaker still take custom orders? I'm really looking for a largely featureless saddle, thanks.

The rise is very low and moved back almost 3 inches, but I'm sure he could cut your's totally flat if you wanted it that way.

I had the same issue. Here is how I solved it. Russel DayLong seat.(they will build to you specs. and are great to work with) NMN handle bar riser. Set of highway pegs. I now am much more comforable and without the changes I would not have kept the Spyder. Since the changes I cant imagine having anything else. If you want to know more give me a call. 724-787-4506 :2thumbs:
