• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking at picking up a used Spyder - '08 Spyder or '15 F3S - any input??

I know that these are very different machines, but so are the price points ($4K vs $9K). From a ride quality perspective (ability to deal with road imperfections), how do these compare? I understand the F3S/T has a decent ride, but is the original Spyder a rough ride or only subtle differences? Are aftermarket suspension upgrades available for both machines?

As a reference, I currently ride a Harley Softail Custom and find it has very good ride quality (so would like to end up with something similar). My previous Harley Sportster and metric bikes rode like lumber wagons (tough on the back). I'm now having balance issues, so its time for three wheels. I have always been impressed by the Spyders.

Anyone who has transitioned between the Spyder's care to chime in on their experience?

The F3S is a much better bike. the F3 has a 1330 engine and the 08 has a 990 engine. The F3 will get better gas milage and better ride. The Spyder is a way different machine than the HD and ride very different, it will take you time to get use to. You can find parts for the F3 and upgrade anything you would like. The 08 you will not find as many parts and have a much harder time finding them. The riding position on the F3 is more like the HD your legs will be forward, on the 08 you will be upright and almost leaning forward with your legs tucked under you. The power steering is much better on the F3 also.

l had a Harley Sportster and a Fat Boy Lo, l loved them but I had a fear of gravel and the two wheels, l love my Spyder F3 SE, I have a problem with balance a little too, the three wheels made all the difference in the world. I had a stroke of my left eye in '23, so I can only see out of my right. I had already gotten rid of my Harleys way before that, and I've always been curious about the Can Am Spyder. It was the best decision ever, so easy to ride, no more lifting and leaning. l'm almost 73, getting old, lol, but hoping to ride into my 90s, God willing! Check out the Spyders, l don't think you'll be disappointed. It does take some getting used, to coming from a big Harley, but you'll love it after you've ridden one for a while... spyderlady
