• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I see there is a Magog Spyderfest July 13th-15th, googled Magog and see its less than 300 miles from us across the Northern Border.

I can find some cool videos of last years event and lots of info about 2011, its there an event thread, website info anywhere.

Would like to go and wonder what hotels around there are any good, vendors attending etc.

Also any one riding up from New England, I don't speak a word of french, although I can order french fries, french bread with french mustard (sorry for the 'better of dead' lines, very funny movie.).

Spyderfest Magog is July 13-15. Google Magog, Quebec for motels and camping. I've been the last two years. Saturday is the main day. A lot of time spent signing in and lining up for parade. Last year they added a beer tent and more vendors. It is a long drawn out process due to the fact that what they are trying to do is establish the Guinness World Record for number of machines of one brand in continuous parade of at least three miles. It's boring but exciting because of being part of a world record attempt. I still haven't made up my mind on going again this year. I'll decide after I return from Nova Scotia and the Bluenose Rally the last weekend in June. July 1st is their fourth of July. I've received my Master's Degree of Bluenose Motorcycle Rallying for ten years attendance. ( I have the degree to prove it) Great time, great food and great people (Even if they are Scotsman).

We went to Spyderfest Magog last year...enjoyed the scenery (the roads are in terrible shape in much of Quebec, though), met some nice English-speaking folks that lived up there but we were disappointed the hosts did not do a better job at welcoming people that spoke English. There was no official translating done during the entire event. Luckily we were "adopted" by some locals that were bilingual (one couple even invited us to stay at their farm an hour or so from Magog). Even Canadians from other provinces were complaining about the lack of translators. At least BRP spoke in both French & English at the Owners' Event. We decided to skip Magog this year...there are plenty of bike rallies that speak English. You should consider going to Spyders in the Adirondacks...beautiful scenery there, nice weather, lots of nice roads, conducted in English. Olympic passport is worth the $ and time...visit the various Olympic venues. Have fun, wherever/whatever you decide.

I went in 2010. When King or Prince Donald P. is not invovled with the Magog event I'll go again.

So as we get closer any updates on who's going where to stay.

Off to Americade Friday 8th for the weekend, Laconia the following weekend, already booked Spyders in the Adirondacks August 9th -12th.

This leaves July free, a whole thirty days with nothing planned. Magog is July 13th-15th (thanks for the correction) Looked on price line plenty of hotels still open.

So who's going, where does everyone stay simply ride for me from MA.

Not too worried about language, used to people not understanding me.

Two weeks to go shameless bump

With spyderfest Magog about two weeks away there as been nothing on the board :dontknow:

I didn't have a spyder for cowtown spyderfest, could not get time of work for Durango, already booked SITA. But July looks like slim pickings, for me the ride to Magog is about the same as Sita give or take 5 miles.

Anyone from here going? Thought I would just take the Friday off work, leave home around 6am should be there in time for lunch. Stay over and return Sunday, don't speak French but I can get by in a little spyder.

Just a shameless bump really
