• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

MBRP exhaust

Questions

New member
This is my first time on this site. I am looking at doing some mods to my Spyder. Has anyone used the MBRP 5000 exhaust? I am also looking at different seats, any suggestions or comments appreciated.

I had one for a while. If you like LOUD, this is the pipe for you. I switched to a Hindle, which is louder than stock, but not half as LOUD as the MSRP. By the way, did I say it was LOUD?

I have the MBRP I really like it, it is loud but no one has ever complained to me. The two problems are that there is not seal between the elbow pipe and the Y-pipe. You have to use silicon sealer to seal the joint and the thin width of the clamp does not help. I would invest in a larger width clamp. The second problem is the clamp that holds the body of the muffler up it is kind of wimpy and there is to much space between the where the clam attaches to the muffler mount on the rear foot peg bracket and the body of the muffler all this amounts to allowing the muffler to much left/right movement and to much up/movement this places a strain on the joint of the elbow pipe and y pipe which as I said does not have an adequate joint in the first place.:gaah: Knowing what I know now I would not have bought the pipe but it is a nice pipe. It is loud but I have heard louder.;)

Leo Vince exhaust

I heard that Leo VInce carbon fiber exhaust is really nice. If I had a choice between them two I would definitely pick Leo Vince and plus there is a buffle that you can remove and put it back on if you dont want the noise to be loud... check them out on youtube..

Thanks

Thanks for the information. I have read further that carbon fiber is not a good idea on the Spyder due to excess heat. I will look at the Leo Vince.:2thumbs:

Leo Vince has a metal can which I own, and it is ok, loud in compared to the stock with the (DB Killer in (removable)) but when you remove, it does get loud.

I am thinking of putting in back on when I go to Gatlinburg, but to have it on while I went to LA, I think it would have been ear racking for me even with the DB killer not being removed.. But what the Heck I am an ole Fart ( as some has called me) and do like things somewhat quiet. :roflblack:
