• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Missed this year's 3 Wheel Rally - any reports posted?

My wife and I made our fourth trip to the 3 Wheeler Rally in Deadwood. There were not a lot of vendors this year and to make things worse a storm took out one of the motorcycle accessory vendors the night before the event. Also there was also major road construction on Highway 385 that gets you from Deadwood to the Custer area. However, despite these negative you go to this rally for the people and the Black Hills. For me having gone to others, this year's event wasn't the best 3 Wheel Rally I've been at. However, I saw plenty of first timers with big smiles on their faces. Nothing like being on the road with hundreds of other Spyder ryders. With all things considered, we still had a great time seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

We made 2 trips from Hill City up 385 to Deadwood. some long sections of old road surface.
But sections of packed gravel and loose gravel. better to travel after the work crews are done for the day.
Some time waiting on the pilot cars gets hot and dusty. This is our 6th time out at rally time but are out there to ride
So only 1 stop at the fair grounds.
T.P.

One advantage of the 3 Wheeler Rally if you are there to ride is less people on the roads and highways with it being a few weeks before the Sturgis Rally. The disadvantage is it's not the Sturgis Rally. ;)Totally different atmosphere,
Indeed, which is nice.

Yeah ... I hear ya. Since 2002 (prior/during/after my H-D years), I have been there around 18 times. Same but different every year. My core buddy group still ride H-D's, so there's that :)

It is a one and done for us. Unless you like to gamble and eat, there wasn't much going on at the rally. The one ride we participated in was about 80 bikes to Devils Tower. Mostly interstate riding. Who wants to ride interstate in the Black Hills? We will go back to the Black Hills on our own and stay in the Custer area where most of the great riding and scenery is.

Sorry to hear about that. Everyone was supposed to turn up Hwy 85 to Belle Fourche then head west through Aladdin and Hulett to Devils tower. Despite the briefing, maps, and me slowing down on the short Interstate stretch to bunch people back up, somehow the turnoff got missed, losing about half the group.
Hope that you did get to ride Spearfish and Vanocker Canyons though.

We (wife and I) made it to the 3 Wheeler Rally, our first, and we enjoyed the riding. We were both disappointed with the vendor turnout, there were more listed and most were no shows. Spyder Extras had some bad luck before the Rally started. We will probably give it another try but, we ride to the Black Hills several times during the summer. We certainly killed our fair share of grasshoppers on the back roads heading across South Dakota.
