• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Moving the Fuse...

 I've got to admit; this one made me nervous...
I don't like "electricals"... Once a mistake is made; it's immediate, and there's no going back! :yikes:
But it's just about the time of year to start thinking about the looming "Dark Spell". Preparations needed to be made.
I unhooked the XM unit from the rear power port, and safely tucked it back in the Jeep, for the next five Months or so...
Re-hooked the I-Pod into the stereo (to keep the tunes flowing...), and it was time to tackle this one...
Popped the frunklid, and pulled the manual to re-check everything...
Yup! Page 60: Move it from position 6, over into 7 (8 is unused)
Unzip the rear of the liner on both sides, all the way to the bottom of the frunk.
Pull the whole thing down, and out of your way...
BRP made this almost too easy; they even put a sticker in there, that will point you to the proper fusebox. (There's two of them... you want the one on the right!)
The outer cover was pretty easy: get your thumb on the top of the box in the center, and sort of "wiggle" it outward.
Once it's loose; you've got the REAL cover to contend with...
This one bothered me; I couldn't get it unlatched with my weak thumbs... :opps:
Finally after a running battle; it unlatched, and I pulled it loose...
There it was...
My goal, and my nightmare!
The cover DID have a list on it; showing what went exactly where...
You'll be moving the top fuse on the (Facing it) right-hand side.
Since most dogs have better thumbs than I do; I used a set of forceps to grab that sucker (A tiny 5 amp one).
Once it was pulled, and started in position 7; I just laid a thumb in place, and gave a push.
...Crossed my fingers, said a prayer, and checked the back power port!
SUCCESS!
Now I can plug in the Battery Tender, when the sad moment arrives, for the RT's Winter Nap...

I think that I have more appreciation for living in California, than at any other possible moment, when I read about the end of "riding season" in so much of the rest of the country.

My main fear, as many of us share, is that without the Spyder itself to occupy Bob, his posts on this forum alone may end up accounting for as much as 43% of the new internet content contributed in the lower 48 states.

END OF RIDING SEASON ?

I am not sure what that means.... never heard of it. Oh yea that's right
it is cold in some places and it snow's there to. Snow I have been told
it is white and wet. There are vendors that put snow in a cup and flavoring
on it and call it a snow cone... that is my kind of cold... hahahaha...
On the up side while we are riding year round the end of riding season folks
have more time to mess with their ride and put cool accessories on them.
Ride Safe and remember
Always have old memories and young hopes...
