COST VS. VALUE

I've spent about $500 on about $4000 worth of various Mods. But I made almost all of mine, and they were all worth it either way...:yikes:..Mike..:agree:

I put almost $6K into my RS (risers, windshield, Corbin seat, grips, road pegs, floorboards, hand brake, hard bags, sport rack, backrest, shocks, sway bar, fog lights, +++++++, and it still wasn't done), and a Corbin seat, Seal Floorboards, and Works shocks on the RT - the RT doesn't need anything else.

I think the MSRP is just the start for most "enthusiast" of anything. My brother dumped just as much money into his Harley and BMWs as most people do their spyders. You can save a ton doing some of the mods yourself if able. Also consider you can save over 100 bucks doing your own oil changes.

Good lord...I'm glad I didn't read this post BEFORE I bought my lowly little RS or I think I would have settled for an old vw bug with the top cut off...or a Robin Reliant! :gaah:

I agree 100% be it friends with Ducati Harley or any of the alphabet soup sportbikes I've seen it all (just like other motorsports) I was just curious as to what type of $ people are throwing down on top of the spyder. Sometimes it seems as though a second bike or trike has just about been spent.

personally less than $100.00 for 1/2 cover & tank bag. But I will admit that it has a givi windshield & trunk thanks to a couple of birthdays that have passed since I got the spyder. Except for the windshield I like my stock spyder, i mostly added the rear trunk becuase it has a passenger backrest & seemed more useful than the brp backrest.

I have spent around 3 grand on mods, most can be seen in link below, some are not visible. Seat was the most expensive at $895.00that included back rest embroidery gas tank cover and shipping. And I would do it again.

Well over $5000, and counting...I don't plan on getting rid of the Spyder no matter what they come out with...I'm not one of those 'must have the latest and greatest' just to waste more money. I prefer to customize my bike just the way I want it. The bike should last a long time...let the mods continue!

I do have a RS. I went with ISCI ones, based on a recommendation from a fellow member. Here is the link. It took a whole of 15 minutes to install them and they work great.

So.... your saying that the engineer's at can-am are a little on the weak side :shocked:, and should have done a better job where you the cust. would not have to spend $5000 for mod's to make it right ?? WOW!:yikes:....I would think a stock can-am would be a great M/C, But.... maybe Im wrong .

I would say that nobody is going to make a machine that pleases everyone. the spyder is still fairly new, and improvements have been made, but yes brp could do better. i love my spyder, and thats really all that matters.
