• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My day at Magog

Lamonster

SpyderLovers Founder
A few of us rode over to a Dealer to meet with some other riders. We were led by Phillippe Normand from BRP. That was cool because I had no idea where the dealership was. When we got there we were greeted by a few SpyderLovers. It was a good group.

It was a longer ride there than I thought it would be. They really only had two guys leading and blocking so a few of us helped out and did traffic blocks. I was blocking traffic on one road and a truck towing a boat went right around me and jumped in our group. :gaah:

We were one of the first big groups to show up. Right away you could tell this was going to be a big deal. :2thumbs:

It took a while to get us all in but they had it down. There was a ton of work that went into pulling off an event like this for sure.

The registration form was in french and I had a hard time with it so once we figured it out I sat down to help out but as it turned out they really didn't need me, I did have a good seat away and got to meet a few SpyderLovers.

After seeing what they had to go through to get an official Guinness Book record my vote is to join them next year instead of trying to beat them in Cuba. I ran that by Len and he was good with that too. I could see this sucking the fun right out of the helpers in Cuba and we don't want that. We can still shoot for 500 Spyders or so but let the folks in Quebec have the record and help them go over 600 next year. :firstplace:

Got to see some really cool Spyders and meet some nice folks while we there. Here's a few of the Spyders.

BajaRon might have been the last Spyder counted. He was late again. :D

We had a moment of silence for a fallen Spyder rider and then they let all the balloons go, that was pretty cool.

After that we did the parade through town. It was about 2 miles and I was in the first group that went out. By the time we rolled back in there were still Spyders rolling out. That was pretty cool too. All in all it was a great event and I think it would be good if the SpyderLovers here in America show out support for this event next year. I know I plan on going again. Thanks for a great time.

Thanks for sharing with those of us who couldn't make Magog this year. It looks like so much fun!

Maybe Baharon needs one of those turbo kits..? :roflblack:

Cool!

Man! I thought I had spent some $$ on my machine. I saw more chrome and V T C kits than ever! Very cool machines at a world record.:ani29:

I got to tell you the VTC kits are bad to the bone. They really have a good sense of style for the Spyder and you got to see it in person to appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into these parts.

Another great write up with outstanding picture and video support. Thanks for sharing all of this for those of us who couldn't make it. I will have to see what next year holds in store, and hope we can make it there.

I personally think they're very cheaply made for the cost. I don't like the Home Depot vents in them, Plus the grip paper on the floor boards is hideous. Spyderpops vent material seems much better made. That bike there I think is the colour pattern that makes it look decent. The fibreglass work isn't too bad.

Everyone has their own take of things like this. I really liked how the look flows with the lines of the Spyder and functionality of the intake system. And it looks good from every angle. Especially head-on, where I think the stock Spyder suffers a bit.

Granted, I do like RePops stainless mesh better than the grill work on this one. But I'm not sure it's all that bad either.

I didn't inspect the floorboard cover material all that closely but I"m sure if it isn't great that would be an easy fix.
