Need clarification on disconnecting the analog temp gauge - will that bring up the digital gauge?

Hi all!
I have read a few threads about temp gauge and magnetic mirrors and now I want to make sure I have understood this solution.
If I disconnect the analog temp gauge it will appear on the digital screen?

I could of course go and disconnect it and try, but if I can get confirmation in here it saves me some wondering. ;)

Not quite - you need to disconnect BOTH the Temp Gauge AND the Fuel Gauge before both of those gauges will appear on the digital screen - it's a both or neither thing!! ;)

That shouldn't be a biggie, cos even if you don't realise it, the analogue fuel gauge is basically a SWAG indicator that often bears little resemblance to reality, while the digital fuel gauge tends to be a bit closer to what's actually going on. And the analogue temp gauge is damped so much that it generally just shows the coolant temp warm up until it measures somewhere in the middle of the range, then NEVER moves, and that's NOT how. ICE cooling systems work, their temp goes up and down in response to engine load and a bunch of other stuff, including the thermostat opening and closing and the radiator fans coming on and shutting down - so if your temp gauge rarely moves once it hits 'operating temp', it's of very little real value to you and it likely won't show your engine over-heating until it's well past too late to do anything about it! 😖

So yeah, go ahead and disconnect BOTH the analogue gauges to get the slightly more helpful digital gauges to come up. (y)

I got a set of decorative plugs to replace the gauges, I think from BRP!! Some people use that space to put USB ports!
