Need more feet heat

With the transverse mounted engine that is mostly forward of your feet you don't get a lot of heat around the floorboards. Especially with all the body panels not letting any radiant heat out. On my Kawasaki Nomad and I would put on engine guard chaps in the winter and I could feel some amount of heat on my feet. Especially, on the right side by the pipes.

I'm gonna have to get heated socks because that is the only part of me that gets cold when riding my 2021 RTL. Wool socks just are not cutting it alone.

It sounds like Can-Am must have solved the problem of excessive heat coming from the engine.

Feet Heat

:coffee: I had used heated socks for my cold day rydes (temperatures below 45°F). Currently I don't use the heated socks, because I am in the "old man" club.

Old man weather club only rydes when the temperatures are 50°F or more.....

The socks are awesome for keeping feet warm. ...

I found using the heated seat warms my lower extremities enough to forego the electric socks I have. So far that's worked for me down to 40 degrees F. I have heated socks and heated insoles if it gets colder. The socks are way better at warming the toes than the insoles.

:agree: .... 30 years ago I got bad frostbite in both my feet and hands .... I have returned to downhill skiing and couldn't do this unless I use both heated gloves for hands .... for socks I have had a few different brands, and the best of them ate made by "BARACHI " ... ( try amazon ot e-bay ) .... they are re-chargeable ( ac ) lithium batteries and last a long time in use .... I have pretty large calves and they will stretch easily .... 3 settings .... good luck ... Mike ...........also, I only paid about $60.00 for them, end this is on the lower price spectrum ....

So far, wherever I have riden (Alaska to Arkansas, and a lot in between), Never had a cold foot problem. Good riding boots and good socks seems to do it for me. Hands, before pre-heated grips, were a problem. Since 2010 RTS, no issues there either. Good riding gloves help though.

Have never used heated gear. So far, have not felt the need.

We are going to ride today. Sorry to report, to some of you, that it is going to be 70 today and the next two. So far, very happy with our move to NW Arkansas.

This has been my experience also.

I have used an AirHawk seat pad for years and have been using it on the RTL. I need to take it off and see if the heated seats make a difference. The problem is, I have my Helibars adjusted with the seat pad on and if I take it off my shoulder blades hurt after a while. I may need summer and winter handlebar positions.

Maybe try a sheepskin in place of the Airhawk in the colder temps. The heat will be more effective getting to you than the air gap in the Airhawk and still be more comfortable than the bare seat.

Yes on sheepsin. Warmer in winter and cooler in summer. Good idea.

In my younger days I peddled a bicycle all season I used neopren over socks, I still ride with them in cold weather
I never had a cold issue on my Street Glide or RT. Find them in any bicycle shop

I'm sorry Dan, but every time I see the title of this thread 'Need more feet heat', I immediately recall how warm my feet always were while riding a BMW R60/7 & the heat those things used to pump out - never had any need for foot heaters while riding one of those Bimmer Horizontally Opposed Twins!! . They were definitely not an ideal bike choice for Aussie summertime conditions! . Great in the wintertime & snowfields tho! :ohyea:

Along the same vein, even if it is a bit out there, maybe you might want to consider swapping that 2021 RTL for an earlier model Spyder?? Saaay, a 2013 RT that still has the Cat Converter fitted and without all the heat alleviation mods &/or recall work done.... :dontknow: . After all, they came direct from the factory with what's arguably a revvier, peppier, & more exciting to ryde V-twin motor AND most of them had built in foot warmers too, especially for the right foot.... :p & there was extra heat for the ryder's crotch area; both legs; a gas tank pre-heater/boiler, & a bunch more built in heat emitters besides - altho be warned, it wasn't for nothing that the opening in the tupperware just ahead of the ryder's right foot gained the nickname of 'the Dragon's Mouth'! :yikes:

There again, maybe not.... ;)

I went out for a ride last weekend when it was 45 degrees out and didn't use the AirHawk so I could use the seat heater. That did seem to help. It was 40 by the time I got home and my feet were not nearly as cold as they usually are at that temp. That is the first time I had really used the seat heater for any length of time. I had to turn it down to low as my buns got a little too warm on high. :^)
