• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New 3/4" helmet

While I was waiting on selling the Shark I decided to look into what was out there in the way of 3/4" helmets. I saw a post on HDforums about this helmet and I decided to give it a try. It had really good reviews.
Found one on ebay for a $100 bucks. It's a little strange looking but in a cool way, kinda like the Spyder. :doorag: I really like the quick release strap.

Another thing I like is it is very well vented and is about 1.2 lbs lighter than my flip. It's going to be a great summer helmet. :doorag:

Well, I just ordered the "Blade" helmet from the website Lamonster listed -- http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...de-Helmet.aspx It's $116.99 with free shipping and a good return policy -- just in case it doesn't fit. There were lots of good reviews of the helmet on the website.

There are also some on eBay, new helmets, various sizes and colors, for a starting bid of $88.07 plus around $16.00 for shipping.

The colors are black, matt black, matt white and silver. I went with the silver since my Spyder is silver. My tentative delivery date is 6/17, so they ship pretty fast.

Lamonster should get a referral fee!

Good deal. Let us know how you like it. :doorag:

I got my new Blade helmet yesterday (6/16), one day earlier than promised. Got a chance to wear it today for a couple of hours and really like it so far.

The fit is good, the padding is good, looks pretty good for a 3/4 helmet (my other helmet is a Harley half helmet). It's not too heavy either, which is nice. We have Nolan full face helmets with intercoms that we use when we ride our Goldwing Trike, and they're great helmets but take a little getting used to, since they're heavier than the half helmets.

I love the "quick disconnect" for the chin strap -- nice touch! The face shield is nice too, and it opens and closes easily.

The only issue I have is that I have to remove my glasses and "fit-over" sun glasses to put the helmet on or take it off. Not a big deal really, I'll get used to it.

Anyway, thanks for the recommendation, Lamonster! Great helmet and great price! Matches my silver Spyder too!

I had to do that at first too but now I put the front of the helmet right above my glasses and then roll the back on and make adjustments as needed.

I removed the strap pads too and that helps to get a better grip for removing it. All in all it's a great helmet. :doorag:

for some reason I have never felt comfortable with 3/4 or flip helmets, partially due to the fact that I have never owned anything except sport bikes and never felt safe without a full face. I might have to give this a go for hot days:(

I found this the other day and have ordered it.
The red looks like its pretty close to my Spyder's color.
Will post here after I try it out.
