• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Garmin Zumo XT Released

Looks like it will replace the 595 LM. Slightly larger and cheaper. Does not come with car mount and car power cable in the box like the 595.

The GPS Store lists them as $499 for the XT, $319 for the 396 and $579 for the 595.
Since it's so new it may be awhile before we see discount pricing.

The mounting base for the XT is entirely different then the 595 or the Zumo 660, so will be necessary to install the new base as well...

Of course, as I just purchased a 595LM! One thing I don't see with the new one is the ability to use the Garmin TPM caps and app. I really like TPM functionality and I already have the caps from my prior 590LM. I don't know if I should return the 595 as I just received it yesterday or keep it because I want TPM and already have the caps.

Hmmmmm.

I switched to Fobo from the Garmin Caps. Can look on the phone or BRPconnect.

I decided to return the 595LM I just purchased and ordered the Zumo XT direct from Garmin. Since I'm adding a GPS newly to my 2020 RTL I decided to go with the latest offering. We'll see.
