• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Guy....eastern NY

Hey Rob....I wondered where "upstate NY" was! I'm just a short hop down #22 then #203 to Spencertown....then some lefts & rights (mostly lefts) into the woods! I like to ride up to New Lebanon and go south around the speedway, some nice roads down thru there.

IMO upstate is anywhere north of NYC..LOL

Been in Spencertown many times over the yrs. Lots of pavement to explore come spring time...

Welcome aboard

Hi Danny,

I'm in Rockland and Delaware counties mostly but ride anywhere/everywhere. :f_spider:

Best,
Phil

NEWBIE

Welcome, i know where you'r coming from with the bike change thing...i had to give up my Wing for the same + reasons...so i was either going to be satisfied with the wind coming over the windshield of my COBRA or giving it up entirely until the SPYDER....You'r gonna love it....Mike.........Come up and visit sometime I'm in VT. about 3 hrs. North

I was thinking the exact same thing... :roflblack:

Come on guys....I could look down on the lights of Cornwall, Ontario from my house in the Adirondack Mtns.......now THAT'S upstate NY!! :ohyea:

They paved County #7 heading south from Spencertown....man, buttery smooth, great corners, lots of fun....short, but still fun! :2thumbs:

Sorry to hear that BK911, kinda stinks doesn't it! I really want to do the Kancamagus one more time, if at all possible....that must be somewhere near you isn't it?

Thanks everybody for the great welcome!!

Yeah, I'm very familiar with your area Arntufun, one of my 'homes away from home' is in Amsterdam....the Super 8 on I-90! :roflblack: Lucky me, huh! :D
I'm about 45 min. east of Albany....practically next door by Spyder!

My house is about 30 seconds from the Super 8.

:welcome: to the new life "after" My knees and balance brought me to three wheels also. I love my Spyder. My 1st. was an '09 RS SE5. Now am the proud owner of an "11 RT SE5. Today, if you can still drive a cage you can probably ride a Spyder. Very cool thing! Enjoy.

Ride in comfort,

Danny:welcome:Ron here, about an hour away from you to the south and west in Accord, NY. (that famous speedway) A must to get in the gawker group site, slow there now but when riding begins again...., plus we have the 2 biggest characters on spyderlovers.:roflblack: Look what is in store for next year. Again welcome.

Yeah, the two seem to go together....when the nitrous Max toppled over on me in the driveway last year I began thinking I may have to go to a different vehicle....so in Feb. I traded the Max for an FJR1300....beautiful bike but still a bike. Then I ran across the '09 SM5 right near me in Chatham....it was like the planets had aligned just for me, so I bought it....and love it! Another huge plus for me is my wife loves it too...the V Max's scared her (she's much smarter than I am :lecturef_smilie:)....she would ride the Feej, under perfect conditions....but she loves to go on the Spyder, it's very cool not to have to be riding alone all the time!

Hey Ron, I cruise up & down on the east side of the Hudson all the time....very simple to hop over the Kingston/Rhinecliff Br and hook up with you guys on the west side....practically next door by Spidey standards! :ohyea:

There's a story behind this and I'm waiting for it. It's a riot:roflblack:

ok, short version

i'm an honorary gawker. several n y riders got together to ryde through the flood areas, earlier this year. i totally misinterpreted the purpose of the ride' as a gawking mission' thereby pi$$ing some people off. hence the name ''gawkers''. l have been forgiven, and joined the n y spyder riders as a gesture of goodwill.

And if you do get out here we definitely need to go on a group ride. Need a place to stay, you are welcome.

Ah...I got it! I was really wondering about the 'Gawkers' name.....all I could picture was a bunch of sneeker wearing OG's sitting on the benches at the mall, staring at the young girls butts!! :yikes::yikes:
I'm relieved!! :roflblack: :yikes:
