• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My wife and I ended the year and started the new year with two great rides, Yesterday we rode the 100 miles up to Portland taking the back roads then this morning we met with abot 20 spyders from our club and went on a Polar Bear Run.

For the last 15 years or so, I've always gone on a First-of-January ride, regardless of the weather. Having an Aerostich suit and a heated vest helps. Of course, this being Alabama, there have been some rides when I still picked up bugs on the windshield.

Until two years ago, I rode my BMW, which had two power outlets (every BMW comes with at least one -- are you listening, BRP?). Now, I just have to get off my butt and wire my Spyder for the vest, so I won't have to dress up and look like the Michelin tire man.

Well I envy you all, as we don't seem to have another SPYDER riders here in the Florence area. So I had to go ride in the wind yesterday alone except for the faithful 2008GS humming around the hills and Sea Lion Cave area. Hope to join up with you all sometime if you are on the Coast.:D:D

Day after New Year ryde

Decided to take my new 15 RT-SS for my first ride today. It was a sunny but 34o day here in w IL. First time I've had heated grips:thumbup:.
I was warm and had fun. It was blustery today and as such reminded me of my EML sidecar rides.
