• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Nice cold wet ride today

I needed to get away from this stupid computer for a while:banghead: but the weather wasn't looking that great.:sour: I checked the radar and there was a few spots of rain but I figure what the heck, I need to ride.:doorag:

Told my wife I'll be back and headed to the top of the Smokies. I went down 349 to 321 and followed it all the way into Gatlinburg. When I got to Gatlinburg the place was packed. I figured it wouldn't be bad with the cold and wet weather but it was just like any other day.:sour: Traffic was stop and go he whole way. The fun thing was looking at all the folks flipping out over the Spyder. I bet there were at least 20 pictures taken while I was stuck in traffic.:D

Got through town and headed up the 441 to the TN/NC border. There's a nice little Park at the top of the hill. About half way there it started getting pretty wet. Soon after the temps dropped and I noticed there was still snow on the side of the roads. I thought I would tuff it out and change gloves when I got to the top. I didn't make it all the way and decided to change gloves and turn around. My hands were as if I held them in a cooler full of ice water. I thought they would never get warm again.:(

From there I headed back but instead of going back through Gatlinburg I made a left and went through Pigion Forge. There was suppose to be a Rod Run there but I guess my dates were off.:opps: I headed back on the highway and never did get warm for about a hour after I got home.

The good news is I did get a chance to try out my new rear tire in the rain and wet roads. I have a pretty good idea how much throttle I can give before my stock tire starts to spin on wet roads. Today I never did get it to cut loose. I would say this is a much better rain tire than the two stock rears I went through. I haven't been in real heavy rain yet but so far I'm lovin it. :doorag:

:2thumbs: keep us posted on that tire that is a great area to ride done it on H-D but can't wait to try on :spyder:

I got mine out to got to the store for the wife today. It was a nice ride about 70 in the sun. I decided when I was leaving the store that since we were BBQing that I would stop and get some adult beverages and thats when I ran into a guy that could pass for the singer of ZZ TOPS he had all sorts of questions. I took the time to answer his questions and he told me that he was going to try to take a demo ride and if he liked it his soft tail would have some new company.

Raining up here in CT for 2 days. S'ok, I just used the time to install a Hindle, let the gasket sealer cure for 24 hours, and give the Spyder some maintenance and TLC.

Lamont,

I picked up one of those Krikits to measure my belt tension. On the How To, your was at 250. Mine measures 175. Do you think thats acceptable? I would hate to mess with the tire if at all possible, the alignment if great, just like your pics. I would rather run loose, than too tight. Is 175 too loose?

Also I remeber Mike saying that the tension changes if the belt is hot. Was that 250 a cold reading? My 175 was measured cold.
