I was to be up to the Springfield, MO, area from Dallas on September 30. A few weeks earlier I called La Monster Garage for a Ba Ja Ron sway bar install and laser alignment. I reconfirmed by email the date, time, and a BJR sway bar install. It was confirmed by LMG.
The sway bar does make a big improvement in curves and cross winds.
However, the fellow at LMG tried very hard to get me to install their sway bar. He said theirs was superior to BJRs and that BJR had been having some issues with his plus his Ultra was really bad.
I insisted on the BJR sway bar. I was shown the box with the BJR bar and blue links. My RTL went across the parking lot with the package for the tech to install along with a laser alignment.
That evening at the hotel I looked underneath at the links. They are La Monster links, not BJRs. The next day I called LMG. I asked why the LMG links were used when I stated I wanted BJR product. The fellow I talked to (same as I talked to in person) claimed they did not have any BJR links in stock and were not ordering any more BJR sway bars. He said the LMG links were better and easier to install. Easier is probably the real reason. He even said their site doesn't list BJR links. Lie, it sure does. A person has a choice of colors in either the LMG links or the BJR links. That is not the point. I was not told of the switch at the point of sale/install or at the time I ordered on the phone. I ordered and personally requested the BJR set up.
As I said, I am sure I saw BJR links in the box. The picture on their site shows the BJR links in the BJR "kit".
The best I can tell my bar is not LMG bar as I could not find the second hole in it that LMG is so proud of. The second hole is so it can be adjusted for two up. Like I am going to craw under it every time I go from solo to two up.
I am reasonably sure the links will be OK. But I cannot stand it when a person does the bait and switch then lies about it.
Shocks and some other items are on my list to have done to my RTL, but no more La Monster Garage business for me.
