There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Now THIS is great "Marketing"!

I've learned some more about this incident. The guy was ordered off the plane and he went. Then he got back on at the same time as the crew people. The video takes place the second time he had boarded. They also say he's a convicted felon. He's traded drugs for sex with male patients (not saying that is wrong, per se). He's also prescribed for people then used the drugs himself.

Im thinking the "victim" may not be all that.

Hi Patti,

Re: Im thinking the "victim" may not be all that.

My son began as a prosecutor & now does defense work. I can almost assure you that the info you posted will have no bearing on any matters before the court(s).

My brother and spouse are flying United to visit us next month. Should I forward the information in case he missed it? :roflblack::roflblack:

Every bit outrage on this one is justified. They did NOT overbook, rather they thought, for whatever reason, that it would be appropriate to take seats that were paid for and use them for their own employees. They could have offered more money, rented their employees a car to drive for several hours, booked their employees on another airline.

The fundamental issue is that they care so very little about their customers that the CEO is clearly blind to the underlying policy decision that would make this even possible.

Belligerent is effectively refusing to comply with directions, which in this case were unfair and should never have been given.

We made a real mistake when we bailed out airlines after 911. I was against it because I used to fly a great deal, and knew just how unimportant their customers were to them, and felt that new businesses would do better in their place (think about Southwest or Jet Blue).

This is an industry that actually has the audacity to charge "penalties" to their customers for wanting to change a flight, but does the absolute minimum when they change their flights on customers.

I'm hoping the industry sees this as a wakeup call, I now regret having purchased a ticket with them in September.

The friendly skies haven't been friendly for a very long time, it just took somebody who wasn't afraid to refuse to comply with an instruction that should never have been given.

Hi folks,

United's new slogans:

"We put the hospital in hospitality."

"We overbooked, but you pay the price."

"Please cover your head and brace yourself for a beating."

Pepsi: We messed up. No other company can do worse.
United: Hold my beer!

This will en the end cost United way more money than they ever thought it would,
I for one will from now on book flights with a different airline company and avoid
United as much as possible. I bet I have a lot of company....

I have never and will never understand why the airline industry as a whole gets away with over-booking flights in the first place. Someone should have been suing all the airlines years ago for this. And yes, I understand this flight was apparently NOT over-booked. It still brings up that question of why they can get away with the practice. I'm glad I don't have any stock in United!!!

I've read all these posts; but, I don't believe we saw how this all unfolded from beginning to end. Someone mentioned that the dr/customer still had his seat belt fastened when they physically tried to get him out of his seat. Can someone link me to that video because I must have missed it. For those with a smart phone/camera, what would alert you to turn on the camera and start filming. I'd have to say (in this instance) you hear a commotion, and you turn that camera on after things have started, which is why I believe we don't see how this unfolded, beginning to end.

vampryegirl,

That's an excellent question, and that issue seems to have been going on for years and years. My big problem with the airlines is their P.A. system. I can never understand what they are saying. Oh yeah, we are booked on United for an end of May trip.

Hi vampyregirl,

Re: why they can get away with the practice.

Because the airlines own the FAA.

Jerry Baumchen

PS) I've been dealing with the FAA on business matters since 1965. They will go out of their way to beat up on the little guy; they'll never say anything to an airline, until they have no other choice.

the doctor is in the hospital, and has gotten himself a lawyer. last night they started bashing him with some dirt on him. a few years ago, he lost his license for dishing out drugs for sex. but he can now practice again

I am betting a big name lawyer...watch out United. There seems to be all kinds of dirt on both sides of the equation here. Now I am going to watch and see. :roflblack::roflblack::bbq::bbq::bbq::bbq:

The dr. was just looking for a stake in the next World Series of Poker, and he may have hit pay dirt. I think he's been in the World Series of Poker for 6 or 8 years, and he's up $241,000; I guess that's not to bad. He does have quite a bit of dirt he's muddled in, but that won't matter, like someone mentioned previously. Everyone is allowed 1 or 2 mea culpas, in his case 1 or 2 dozen.
